Well, I sort of doubt this will make it to U.S. arcades and if it does, it will be in small quantities. Since Guilty Gear: Isuka is coming to PS2 and that uses the same Atomiswave arcade system, any chance of Neo Geo Battle Coliseum coming to the PS2? I assume it might eventually but have not heard anything yet. Does anyone here have any interest?

I have a great interest in this, but the chances of it comming are slim to none since all the SNK games are selling like crap here, but maybe in a few years when there is even less demand for it, like they are doing with the older KOFs now.

YES!!!
I'm a huge fan of these crazy crossover fighters and one featuring SNK characters sounds amazing.
I hope it has a few more King of the Monsters characters in it tho.
I think its a safe bet to say it'll come to PS2 eventually, SNK has been supporting it more and more lately and I'd imagine this game would sell pretty well.

This is their huge new title, it'll probably be released here... I always assumed they would. If they don't release that here, then they won't release anything here. This is the biggest thing they have going.

I agree. But I hope on the US release they don't go putting it on X-Box exclusivly like they did with SVC Chaos. Even though SVC Chaos wasn't that great, I'd still like to own a U.S. PS2 version of it.

I thought Sony's denied SNK the right to publish this game on PS2? The only reason they've been able to put out their 2d fighters is because they're putting them in double packs...at least that's what I was assuming.

Yeah, but they are not putting the KOF games in double packs in Japan. So maybe they will release it in Japan and the SNK fans (including me) will have to import and mod our PS2 systems. As long as I get it in some form in the U.S. then I'll be happy. I have already been pricing Atomiswave JAMMA systems to see if I may have to buy a whole cabinet.

SCEA pretty much doesn't want 2d games on PS2 in North America at all. SNK wanted to do Metal Slug 3 and the rest of their stuff exclusively for PS2 and not even bother with Xbox, like most Japanese companies, but SCEA said no. SCEA sucks. The double packs were intentional because the years they've packed in were harder to find and basically not available at all here.

But what about Capcom Fighting Jam? Is that coming to PS2?

consider capcom fighting jam to be the farewell for 2d fighting games on ps2 or any future playstation system. amidst the many kof's and svc chaos, this one is probably expected to sell the most out of all future slated 2d fighters. that's probably why it's the exception.
fuck scea.

That really sucks, cause SNK/ Playmore was just starting to get back on their feet. In fact I converted all my friends from Street Fighter to KOF. Oh well, most of my SNK fighters are imports anyways.

downgraded eh?
well, to each his own. i'll never love kof more than i love street fighter, but kof is still fun. the important thing here though, is that our genre is getting killed really quick, and pretty soon we won't be getting new 2d fighting games at all.

If you check out the reviews/sales figures for SvC Chaos, you'll see why it was denied. SNK is actually putting some effort into this title, so expect it to come to Japanese and American consoles.

Well any sane KOF fan will say that SVC Chaos wasn't that great. But we shouldn't judge SNK's ability to make 2-D fighters on one very rushed, broken game. But SNK are the only ones that seem to really care for their 2D fighting fans. Capcom just cares about Resident Evil, Devil My Cry, and other 3-D games.

It would have been a top seller if the Dreamcast was stilll around.
Home of the fighters!

Frankly, I'm all 'versus'-ed out... the most playable for me was Marvel vs Capcom 2... I could play that for days... I played Chaos for all of 3 hours before it was traded off...

Not me, I'd prefer any 2D fighting game to all the 3D platformers. I'll take anything I can get.

co-signed. 2d fighting games own 3d ones for free. the problem is that 2d fighting games have a small hardcore fanbase, as opposed to all these new 3d games that appeal to not only the hardcore gamers, but also to the casual gamers. working retail, i try to talk people into buying street fighter collection, because for one, its a collection of 2 awesome games, and two, it's only 30 dollars. meanwhile, i sell more copies of driv3r without one mention of the stupid game.

Just found this looking through some old PS2 topics. Hopefully no one will be offended that I bring it up. i would love for this game to come out here stateside as at this point I'm loving any 2d love we see here. I'm sure it would be great as SNK is a great game company minus that little SVC Chaos set back and also that they have the great Samurai Showdown series.
Any new news on this?
