There are tons this is why I hate paypal and ebay even if you say I don't accept credit card paypal people will do it anyhow. Bacisally they can send you the money recieve the item and then have thier credit card company cancel the transation and you get screwed. This doesn't happen that often though, how much is the item worth?

Then I wouldn't worry, in truth most people are decent I just accepted one for $25 kinda pissed me off because now I have to pay paypal for every friggin transaction I do on that account.
One of the posters on here had 3 negative feedback from people who tried to pay with CC PayPal and he declined payment. They got POed and hit him with neg feedback. His auctions stated no CC PayPal, BTW.
It's inevitable that you will have people pay with CC funded PayPal, and IMO your only real choice is to upgrade your account. Not worth taking the negative feedback from people who can't follow directions.
Once again an example of how PayPal screws the seller to benefit the buyer. Does PayPal refuse to put the payment through up front and tell the buyer why? No! They put the onus on the seller to decline the payment and piss off the buyer. Thanks.
I had a personal account until I had the first buyer pay me with a CC funded payment. Then I upgraded. Think I had it happen on my 6th payment. (And yes I clearly stated no CC funded payments in my auctions.) I think it might cut down on your bidders if you don't accept CC so it may even out.

What you meanby getting it upgraded you talkign about being verified or becoming a preferred user. How does that help.

With a premiere account u can accept credit cards but there is a fee on all the money you recieve even if it is a transfer from a bank account or paypal balance

well I think to be a seller you have to be verified, which means they have your bank account routing #. Verified means they take $.25 or so plus 2% of any funds transfered to you in every transaction but you can accept credit card payments. It kinda sucks but since people want to pay with credit a lot I do it.

Accepting it wasn't the problem I was just wondering if that way had more loopholes for the buyer to use
I'm kind of confused about what you're talking about now :D
Did the payment have some sort of different note on it indicating it was a PayPal credit card payment (vs. some 3rd party CC like Visa or MC) or something? It actually might make me a little more comfortable if they use a PayPal card (they have those debit card things, at least they send me SPAM about them) as they would then have to go through PayPal for a chargeback no matter what.
