How quickly do you think Killzone will drop in price. I think it will be one of the games that drop within a month, like Second Sight. I give it a month before it drops to $30, if not $20. What do you think?

i would buck it up for 15 or less...at least just to try it out

It will take longer than a month I assure you. I give it until after Christmas to drop to $40, and then about to GH around Summer '05.

I don't know if I will ever buy it, no matter the price.

Sony won't drop the price until after Christmas. The most that retailers may drop it is to $40 and that's only if it does not sell. I think it will sell pretty well because most people buy lot's of shitty big-hype games. I pre-ordered it at GR for $6 out-of-pocket.

If you judge it on it's own merits, it's a pretty cool game for the PS2. I you have an XBOX, then you will probably ignore this one. I have all three systems and will probably start playing my Killzone after I finish Paper Mario 2, Halo 2, MGS 3, Gran Turismo 4, and KOTOR 2.

After the holidays and the hype dies down, you should try it. But right now, there are so many great games to play. Like I said, I have played a few levels of my copy and it is pretty good. It's just not the right time to play it. Maybe around summer time when there are no games coming out.

The game won't drop in price, at least not lower than $30. it will probably sell enough for GH

Even if it's not a Halo killer, i know a lot of people who want a really good PS2 online FPS

hell, id probably pick it up if it was greatest hits

I'd buy it for $10. Not saying it's a bad game or anything it's just that I don't really like FPSs.

Did the retail price for this go up? I got mine for $40 with no deals on it at all.

It won't drop till after X-Mas.

Sony "may" drop it to their $29.00 Value line of titles, but I sort of doubt it. The unlabled value line is more used for games that Sony is proud of that may not be reaching the sales figures they desire.

Given the heavy marketing this game has received, I question whether or not it will even drop in Jan.
(though I do hope).

I think the Second Sight price drop was a fluke -- it was a matter of Midway getting their title out first that killed interest in Free Radical's, leaving the publisher with an overrun for the pressing, misinterpreting interest in a title that "seems" to ride a trend.

Free Radical has a legendary reputation, and that is one of the games big selling points. Combne FR's history on the N64 with their respected TimeSplitters series on this generation's consoles, and u realize they have considerable leverage. While being a big fan myself, I think that Free Radical's visual style can be a challenge in selling their games to a public more familiar with more realistic styling found in games like Splinter Cell. NOt to hijack this thread, but Second Sight is a good title to pick up using the BB GGC -- it is a well made game that encourages multiple solutions -- play the game as a Stealth Game, or a weapons shooter, or a psychic adventure, or any combo.

Which is too bad, because Second Sight is an excellent game.

Keeping in mind it's a Sony first party game, in about 5-6 months it will fall to $39.99. Then, in 8-10 months it will become a GH and drop to $19.99.

Good point. I wonder whether or not all the $29.99 Value Titles were 3rd party games -- seems to me they were/are.

I wanted to get this game, but I held off knowning I wouldn't have time for it with all the other games coming out. If it does drop to 25 or under I will pick it up.
