Its a toss up between Gladiator and Lion King(sentimental value).

When it comes to Epics its LoTR of course followed by Star Wars and Lawrence of Arabia.

Well, I may catch some flames for this, but "The Princess Bride" is definitely one of my all-time favorites.

Edit: "Dogma" is also a favorite. "The Court Jester", also. And "Memento", which was mentioned earlier in the thread. There is no way I could pick one favorite film, though.

The Usual Suspects.

Keyser Soze = the coolest villian ever.

yes I second this. The cast is amazing, and the movie is one of those I have not been able to get over. Kevin Spacey rules!

I also like, Die Hard, American Beauty, Speed, and Half-Baked although none compare to The Usual Suspects

“Comedian” is easily my favorite movie ever.

It's a documentary that follows Seinfeld’s return to comedy after a two year hiatus. He had retired his entire act and so he’s basically starting from scratch (material-wise that is, he obviously still has a ton of experience under his belt).

It’s only about an hour and twenty minutes, not all that much time to invest in a flick so ya’ll should check it out. I rented it from Block Buster and ended up watching it 4 times before I took it back! (Without commentary twice and with each commentary track once.) Maybe I’m crazy but I couldn’t stop shoving it in my player. I’m not even a standup buff…

Prior to “Comedian” I can’t say that I had a favorite movie but both “Dark City” and “Mallrats” were in the running.

Witty film about teen age prodigies at Pacific Tech who learn the laser project they've been working on will be used by the military as a death beam. Kilmer is especially outstanding as one of these prodigies, who tries to fight to stop the project. Check it out if you haven't seen it .

I would say that my favorite movie of all time is "Airplane!". It's just one long string of hilarious gags, jokes, puns and parody. And everyone who was a part of that movies was great, Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges and so many others. It pretty much invented the spoof/parody sub-genre, and there has not been a comedy movie that has been as consistent in it's humor and laughs as "Airplane!". Even after 20 years, the movie still is quite funny, despite some of the dated material. I would recommend this to anyone who likes comedies, and has never seen this movie.

Ya know, I've thought about it a little more, and wanted to to say that the director has so much to do with what a movie becomes that it's not quite fair to not mention my favorite directors.

M Night Shyamalan: The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs
Robert Zemeckis: Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, What Lies Beneath
Stephen Spielberg: a long list, my fave is the Indiana Jones trilogy

I absolutely love M Night and will watch any movie that he directs, sight unseen. As far as actors, the man himself, Han Solo aka Harrison Ford, is absolutely my favorite actor. And as a bonus he's just so damn sexy! Yes, even for a 60-year-old. rawwwrrrr... I would in a heartbeat, my friends =P~

Editorial review:
Screenwriter William Goldman's novel The Princess Bride earned its own loyal audience on the strength of its narrative voice and its gently satirical, hyperbolic spin on swashbuckled adventure that seemed almost purely literary. For all its derring-do and vivid over-the-top characters, the book's joy was dictated as much by the deadpan tone of its narrator and a winking acknowledgement of the clichés being sent up. Miraculously, director Rob Reiner and Goldman himself managed to visualize this romantic fable while keeping that external voice largely intact: using a storytelling framework, avuncular Grandpa (Peter Falk) gradually seduces his skeptical grandson (Fred Savage) into the absurd, irresistible melodrama of the title story.

And what a story: a lowly stable boy, Westley (Cary Elwes), pledges his love to the beautiful Buttercup (Robin Wright), only to be abducted and reportedly killed by pirates while Buttercup is betrothed to the evil Prince Humperdinck. Even as Buttercup herself is kidnapped by a giant, a scheming criminal mastermind, and a master Spanish swordsman, a mysterious masked pirate (could it be Westley?) follows in pursuit. As they sail toward the Cliffs of Insanity...

The wild and woolly arcs of the story, the sudden twists of fate, and, above all, the cartoon-scaled characters all work because of Goldman's very funny script, Reiner's confident direction, and a terrific cast. Elwes and Wright, both sporting their best English accents, juggle romantic fervor and physical slapstick effortlessly, while supporting roles boast Mandy Patinkin (the swordsman Inigo Montoya), Wallace Shawn (the incredulous schemer Vizzini), and Christopher Guest (evil Count Rugen) with brief but funny cameos from Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, and Peter Cook.

I'm not really a movie buff, but my all time favorite is Bean: The Movie. Haha, he's just too funny. The director wandered off a bit on Bean's character, but the movie was still very good. Two thumbs!

I, too, find it odd that you would so readily accuse someone of being gay, when it is you - and only you - who has produced homoerotic material. I guess it was convenient for you to do so, since you probably had that picture bookmarked already for activities that are entirely within your discretion...that I'd rather not know about.

I think someone's projecting.

I'm inclined to agree with SneakyPeguin's assessment; there's no need to deny anything. CAGs are an accepting crowd, and certainly won't hold your latent homosexual tendencies against you.

My all-time favorite has to be....

Drunken Master - with Jackie Chan

Absolutely the best Martial Art's flick period. Great action and great comedy. Much better than the sequel "Legend of Drunken Master' (which is good in its own right).

Second would be Star Trek: First Contact. Awesome film. Assimilate this!!

Third would be Tuck Everlasting. Not the one that came out recently. The one that came out in the early 80's. That was a great film IMO.

Memento was one twisted movie. Pretty shaq-fued up. but also pretty good.

Eh, A Clockwork Orange, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Donnie Darko, or Reservior Dogs. I cant decide. Or any Kurosawa film, Yojimbo rules.
