I've always been suspect of auctions that state "don't have time to test".

You could go to radio shack and get the right connector for $2-3 and test your system, it would make it worth more to know it actually works.

and PS, you should clean it up too, nobody likes dustbunnies.

What kind of connector do I need? It originally had this little box with a switch that slid to either side. It had 2 'U' shaped connectors that connected to the TV with screws. All the back of my TV has is a coaxial plug. How do I connect? Thanks for your help.

radio shack still sells an RF Modulator, only now they have them with a type "F" connector instead of the 2 forked leads so you can hook it directly up to the cable IN on the back of your TV. All TV's still have that input. If you still have the original RF switchbox with the 2 forked leads, you can buy this 75 to 300 ohm adaptor:

Just tell the guy at radio shack you have an intellivision and they'll get you the right part.

Would one of these work? (http://www.videogameconnection.com/classic%20systems/atari1.htm) I thought I'd do some searching around on the net on how to connect an Intellivison to a newer TV. I don't know where the switch box disapeared to. Unless Radio Shack still sells those. I guess I can check. Aren't RF Modulators over 20 dollars if that's the case? Anyway, I'll see what I can do. Yes that should work. That's what I use for my Atari 2600. You can get that for $4.50 at Radio Shack or the old style manual rf-switch for about $8.

Ataris (and Intellivisions too I guess) don't have enough power to trigger the automatic RF switches so a NES, etc. switch will not work properly.

And things listed as being sold untested or 'as is' generally tend to sell at about the same cost as broken items in my experience.

Also the PO charges the same amount for any zip code (except for express mail maybe) so there really isn't any need to know the zip code to give a shipping cost, you just need to know the weight. Listings without a shipping cost also tend to not do as well. (Unless they say 'pay acutal shipping cost only' which yours does not.) I know I hate to bid on anything without a firm S&H cost as I've heard of sellers who (dissapointed with the bid amount) gouge on the S&H to arrive at what they deem a fair price.

And I'd love to find a setup like that at a yard sale someday. That would be sweet.

As for shipping, I have never gouged. I believe in actual shipping and handling charges. As for the zip code issue, I just tested your theory out. I estimated this package to weigh about 15 lbs. I did one in state zip code (Maine) one for California and one for Florida. Prices, respectivly: 11.05 Pri/7.62 parcel, 27.80 Pri/22.64 parcel, 22.50 Pri/17.49 parcel. Why are they so different?

Why are they so different?
because postal rates are based on weight AND distance. So zipcodes are important when calulating actual postage.

Ebay's listing page lets you have users automatically calculate their own postage on your listing page. You could try modifying your listing to include this feature if you end up testing it and changing the listing description anyway.

I did not know that. Learned something new today. Just checked the fine print on USPS.com and they seperate the country into 8 zones from your zip.

I'll have to keep this in mind for the heavier stuff I auction off.

I got it working! I found some plans on the net where some guy made a connector and I tried it and tested it. All games work. Pictures at http://home.maine.rr.com/blevesque/intellivision.html . I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to test it, you guys were making me anxious to test it :wink:
