Yea, wouldn't want to make a decision on your own....
How are RPGs fun when you use a guide, or cheat online or ask for help?

Up your's asshat!!
I have been playing on my own,.. but the game is more complex than your average RPG.
I have about 20 hours a week to devote to games, so I have to make due.
Keep your opinion to yourself,... nutsack urchin!
Anyone???
Thanks.

I spend about 10 hours a week, at the max.. usually more like 3. But I still refuse to ever look at any sort of hint for an rpg (including my recently finished copy of Unlimited Saga, Shin Megmei is nowhere near as complicated)... it ruins any sort of fun you could have with the game.

Well, obviously that is not the case since there are plenty of people who play with guides. If it wasn't fun, then they wouldn't be playing.

I beg to differ. Any more people have become technology and graphic whores. We play games simply to see what the developers have made. Many of the latest huge blockbuster games aren't fun.. Fable, GTA series, MGS, etc. They're boring.
People play games to say they beat it, because they hear alot of hype about a game and want to play it whether the like the genre or not, to see the nifty graphics, to see the story.. etc. Not only because they are fun.

I must hang out with a different crowd... I don't know anyone who goes around bragging about games that they have beaten. Plenty of my friends talk about fun games though.

Do I really need to find a few dozen threads here boasting they beat so and so game?

Any one that you pick is good....you can buy anything he gives you anyways...it doesn't matter that much which one you pick...They are all about the same really....don't listen to those other asshats, they don't know the deal on this game...You are just getting started....the best is yet to come....enjoy

I think it's all random, but you get a better prize if the "Moon Phase" is Full. I've gotten STR Insence and stuff like that. I don't mind helping people.

Nocturne is fun, and it's also the only game, ever, I've bought a guide for. Even without the 'walkthrough' the guide is a good read. And I agree, it is--or can be--more complex than the average RPG. Is it the most complex ever? No. But it's more complex than any of the last four FF's, for example. [Note: I played and enjoyed FFVII, VIII, IX, X, T, and X-2.].
I haven't traded in any tickets yet. I would think it's random, to an extent, and the Full Kagatsuchi comment makes sense as well.

No, please dont, I understand where youre coming from man, a lot of people are groupies now of video games, I play them cause they are fun, not to beat them, I could play Star Wars battlefront for four hours and not get anywhere and still have a ton of fun

Thanks guys!
I just have too many games, and not enough time to make a mistake.
I don't use FAQs, unless I'm stuck at a part for more than 2-3 hours.
I don't see how it is cheating. Taking away from the story???? No, I don't see how.
Just like while playing FF8,... I missed the optional Doom Train summon, and stopped playing the game.
I was almost at the end, if I recall, and it jsut killed me that I'd have to do it all again.
This game is amazing so far.
It seems like trivial stuff I'm doing,.. but everything about it gets me excited.
Thanks again.

I agree. Fun is how you define it. I am playing it pretty much without the walkthrough, but when I get to a point in this game [or any other] where I'm totally stuck, or getting my butt kicked repeatedly, and it's frustating, I'll look for a hint.
In FFX, I think, those stupid jewel puzzles in the 'churches', i did the first one myself, then ran into the second and said, You know, this isn't fun to me, and used a walkthrough for those parts.
Sometimes after playing/finishing a game I'll replay it with a guide/walkthru to get 'everything'.
I still play Heroes of Might and Magic: Shadow of Death sometimes, although I know I'll almost always win, because it's just fun.
I do agree that there is a focus on cool graphics and CGI and professional voiceacting, that is, the glitz, in many cases--I don't mind glitz at all if it's backed up by a solid/fun game, but where the game is just or mostly glitz, that's not fun, that's a tech demo and not worth my 50 bucks.
