Question for those of you who have this, how many people are playing Line of Contact online? Is it easy to find a match? If this was at EB I would jump on it with the credit I have there.

OOS in 7 minutes? WTF is with that?
You need to have some words with Gamestop about how bad it is to tease the CAGs, CheapyD. :D

Damn, that's a great price...It's a shame that the DS comes in less than two weeks... :(

Tried Firefox and IE, both of them, the coupon doesn't work.
And for something like that, there's no question I want a tracking # to find out where this thing is at.

My friend says the net code is terrible and is impossible to play it online. However, he says it is perfect for LAN games, as he frequently hosts 8-player matches.
Something about playing online, if you get booted (and it happens frequently) you lose all your pilot's/mech's information and have to start from scratch. Not good.

I have someone from Gamestop.com (Brett) on the phone and told him that the coupon isn't working. He's looking into it. Hopefully he can fix it, or find out why it's not working.
The guy on the phone told me that he wouldn't recommend using FREESHIPALL for this, so you might be careful with using it, since even for something like this, it'll go USPS without a tracking #.
Update: He said that the Internet department is working on it right now, and when they have it fixed, they'll call me and let me know.

If your Gamestop has it in stock, don't expect it for that price, I just called two stores in my area and they have it for $170.

I play!!! But its hard pressed to find someone online, especially with a game called Halo 2 out

Not totally true, it's really dependant on your connection. Some people have absolutlly no problem playing 3v3 matches online, others can't even join the games. Your upload speed is a big factor in this game, unlike most other games.
And I've never heard of someone losing their pilot and mechs from getting booted...you lose the mechs you dedicated to the match but that's it, all your supply points and mechs that are on standby are unaffected.
Anyway, there aren't many people playing nowadays, which is really disapointing because aside from that it's very fun. Wonder if there's a certain time that people play the game...if all the LOC players got togeather at a specific period it probably wouldn't be all that hard to find a match (like it was when it was first released).

i got it for $142.49 shipped via ups 3 day ship.
I used the 10% new and used games for being a gametz member and then selected ups 3 day ship(5.99 + $1.50 for being over $75)
Hot deal!

They never called me with any info about the coupon, which I'll remind them on the phone.
EDIT: Spoke with the same guy I spoke with yesterday, said the coupon still isn't working, and he'll provide me shipping credit once the order shows up in their system, as they suggested I cancel my old order and make a new one. They are still working to get the coupon working.
EDIT 2: Gamestop called and said they would provide credit once the order ships, so $8.99 shipping was taken care of. Points to Gamestop.
I thought you guys were cheap!
You're actually paying for this!?!?

3vs3 is playable, 4vs4 is next to impossible. The players were frustrated because after their $200 investment, Capcom fixed the problem in Japan but decided it wasn't worth fixing here.

This is probably the cheapest a new Steel Battalion will ever be for people who didn't get in on that Frys deal or whatever (Some store sold them for $100 last year. None were near me, though.)
If I hadn't just spent $130 on the Ace Combat 5 bundle, I would pick this up in a second. Hopefully, it'll still be here in a week or two.

One huge-ass controller.

Actually, the problem is that there WAS no problem in Japan. Over there players weren't really having any connection issues: the extremely close proximity of players and superior broadband networks (not to mention the main matchmaking server being hosted in Japan) basically allowed them to play the game flawlessly. But in America and other parts of the world, the game didn't fare so will due to it's fairly intolerant netcode, even when playing against people from the same region. And since Capcom is a Japanese company, and since no Japanese people were having problems with the game, they didn't really do anything to change the netcode (though I hear it got a little better when the patch issued to fix the duping issue was released).

I never bought Line of Contact, I still just have the original.
I couldn't justify paying full price after my initial investment for the net version of the game. I will probably pick up Line of Contact later if I can get it on the cheap.

I got it and if I dont like it i will just ebay it, problem solved. Of course the ebay fees and paypal fees are quite excessive on higher priced auctions, but I hope to at least break even on this.
FYE had these clearanced at $100 new over the summer, but $142 shipped isnt too bad imo.
I was considering another option: my local ebgames has it instock used, i could have just brought in a 30% off coupon for any one used game to bring the price down to $119(about 130 after tax) but again that is for a USED copy, and dunno about the condition.
Gamestop is selling it new for $135(plus shipping it is $142.48) and that isnt bad at all considering it is new.

Do you mean a special order from a Gamestop B&M? It is $150 on their site. If you do mean a B&M, check your tax rate, it could bring the price higher than buying online.

gamestop and gamestop.com are run by 2 different companies. gamestop.com has a store down in texas (i think houston) called gamestop.com, so don't expect any gamestop's to have the same deals as the website. i asked my manager (i work at gamestop) what the deal was one time about having such different prices and that is what he told me.

LOC should be $30 new now, at least it was at my local Gamestop. They even had a used copy for $25 (minus another $2.50 if you have a 10% off card).

EBGames.com has it for $149.99:
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/227919.asp
Guess it might be a price drop?
One word of note is the following:
Due to the size and weight of this item, an additional shipping and handling charge of $10.00 will be added to your order.
Looks like Gamestop.com is the better deal, since their shipping increases are due to cost, not weight.
