That $10 "free" gift certificate has some heavy strings attached. I bought a $10 dreamcast at ebgames but made sure to cancel the membership to the travel rewards program, if you dont cancel the membership then they bill you $9 per month.) Well were ;). Today EB actually started locking down on those codes - like yesterday (or rather, two days ago from this posting), one of my suitemates made like 10 different orders for 16 DVDs...and for his order for Oceans Eleven and Training Day, what EB did is double his order, and subtract $10 from that in his costs. However, EB did that as a slick move to send his purchase at the price he would've paid if he actually bought it without the coupon code. He called them up about it, and since it already shipped, he's going to refuse order, but as it shows, EB already knows about people abusing these coupon codes. Also, on the billing statement, it shows up as two different charges on his debit card, so EB obviously knows what they are doing with regards to the legal front, although changing the purchase price when the receipt has already been sent and printed for record purposes is a little shady...

However, EBgames.com has excellent customer service otherwise, and so I commend them, as that one instance is an example of abuse of a mistake, and an illegal one at that (another suitemate lost a legit code and he called and got it back without hassle).

I've heard it's kind of short, and thet Devil May Cry [which I just got, and am only one mission into] does a lot of things Rygar does, slightly better. I do like the setting though, I've always been into Greek mythology.

Well my suitemate called them up yesterday (and hence why he's refusing the order when it comes), and they only have it in their records as 1 of each item, which means they only shipped 1 of each, not 2, and so effectively he's paying the actual price of the items.

Regarding the double billing, I don't necessarily think it was due to the coupon codes. I placed an order for 2 copies of a game (each $1.99) and another 2 copies of a different game (also $1.99 each) and got charged $7.96 for each 2 copies (coming to a total of $15.92). I didn't use any coupons on this order.

Well, I called EB today and the guy I spoke to said that it was a mistake and they already corrected it and credited the extra $7.96 back to my credit card.

So, maybe there is some glitch in their system double-charging people.

It's hard to find deals on anime, apart from *occasionally* lucking out on Ebay or Half.com. The specific deal I'm talking about is Right Stuf International's weekly special this week; every disk of Cardcaptor Sakura for 11.49, MSRP 29.98, and two bargain bundles of disks 1-9 and 10-18 for 98.99 instead of 269.82. I've got disks 1-5, and I will not buy the bootleg version, but I can't see myself spending 25-30 bucks each for 15 more disks. Anime on dvd is certainly expensive, but it's a lot less expensive than it used to be on VHS. TRSI does have some very good deals occasionally; a while back I picked up all of Irresponsible Captain Tylor, TV and OVA, for about 80 bucks. Watched them all, then sold the OVA's [I didn't like them as much] for almost 50 on Half.com.
But yes, I don't have as many anime dvd's as I do regular dvd's or video games, because they definitely are not cheap, and some of them, you then get sucked into buying many many disks worth for a series. Thank goodness for Netflix. They don't have a lot of anime, but I have saved a bunch of money renting rather than buying.

No, order quantity is fine, and the correct amount charged to the card. I guess they just decided to split up the order for some reason. Do they have multiple shipping warehouses? Maybe that's it?

I've had that happen [multiple shipments] from lots of places. Odds are it's that, multiple warehouses, different stock levels, things like that.
Ifyou go to your cart and change the qty to some really high number, it'll give you an error saying 'You may only order this many.'

Okay, I have got to ask for those of you who have had it now, does it get better?

I haven't gotten to play much, just up to after the Sphinx boss fight, leaving the temple, receiving the first two discarmors.

So far I didn't realize that the daily life of a greek warrior was destroying large amounts of masonry. Maybe someone can chime in and tell me the gameplay/difficulty changes, or is this what I should expect for the rest of the game?
