Ok, I just sold my digital camera on EBAY. It sold for over $400, so it's a good amount of money to me.

Now, the buyer has paid me....however, I'm INELIGIBLE for the Seller Protection Policy and the buyer has an UNCONFIRMED address. He said he just moved, which is very possible.

I believe the buyer had a +1 or +2 feedback

What should I do? Should I ship and get SIGNATURE confirmation? I'm worried about a possible chargeback situation.

Also, what if I remove my bank and CC info from PayPal, can they still do a chargeback on me? I am a US Premier account holder on PayPal

I would ship ups ground they have to sign for it that way and you have a tracking #. if they have paid you allready it probabbly is a legit address change

Yeah, I know USPS has a signature confirmation service also....I may just do that, sinse the Post Office is a lot closer than UPs Store.

I once sold something on ebay for $20, and the buyer paid me through Paypal pretty quick. I sent out the package, then about a week later I got an email from Paypal saying that the buyer was requesting a refund because he didnt get the item he paid for. So basically he lied, and screwed me out of some money. Just because the buyer paid you doesnt mean he cant screw you over some how. So when you send the package out, ask for Delivery Confirmation. It cost $0.55, and will guarantee that you have evidence if the same thing that happened to me should happen to you.

I don't have to sign for stuff I get UPS Ground. I think the people in my place before me must have done a waiver or something.

You could insist he confirms his address, but if you didn't say "confirmed addresses only" in your auction he would have a right (IMO) to get a bit POed with that request. With it being that much money it's a tough decision, I agree.

Don't know what I'd do, I'd probably rather have it go UPS so it is tracked the whole way.

also feedback is not reliable in my opinion. I have bought 2 items in last week(paid for instantly) and sold 2 other items and not received anyfeedback from them at all. That is becomming quite popular from what I see so a low feedback means nothing at that point because who knows how much they have really done.

I had this same problem for an item I recently sold. I was paid but I was also worried about a chargeback. It was for $155 (also a nice amount) and the buyer had a +9 feedback. In the end I ended up putting my faith in humanity and sending the package with insurance and delivery confirmation. I haven't had any problems with it thankfully.

Chances are if he paid he is not trying to rip you off - I think the credit card company/paypal would get suspicious of someone constantly charging back items.... or maybe this is his big score - but I doubt it.

Ok, thanks....I will ship it at lunchtime then.

I read the USPS Signature Confirmation and it is basically the same as UPS.

They require someone to sign for it and it is delivery confirmation also.

I think both would work in my case....USPS is just more convienent for me since it is only 5mins from work.

Yeah, definetly use signature confirmation because on items above $250, Paypal requires it.

Why didn't you simply tell the buyer that you only ship to confirmed addresses which he can do quite simply by going to paypal, entering his credit card information with that as his permanent address and waiting a few days for it to clear.

Just because you have sig. confirmation doesn't mean that he paid you with a valid CC or bank account number and you will get hosed.

Well, I shipped it with Sig. Confirmation. So at least I know if he gets it. Hopefully everything goes smoothly...he has been good to communicate with at least.

I would send it UPS signature required, they are more reliable than the post office's delivery confirmation. This is alot of cash, do not put your self at risk just because the post office is a little closer.

As you can see...I ALREADY shipped it.

Yes, and I just gave my 2 cents on what I would do, I have 415 feedback 370 from different users with a 100% rating. I have been a member since December 1998 so I am pretty confident I know what I am doing.

You asked for advice, there is no reason to be a prick when you get some late. It could help you in the future.
