My Xbox box lied to me! [Mobile/Archive]

When I purchased my XBox, the box said that it came with a free 2-month subscription to Xbox live, which struck me as pretty cool. I kept the box, not looking through it to look at the warranty or actually look for the card, and now that I want to set up Xbox live, it appears that my Xbox was without a subscription card. What should I do? I think I'll ask Target for a new card, but I don't know if they'll give it to me.

Did you get the Star Wars/Tetris Bundle? If so, the XBL card is in the gamebox.

I wouldn't ask Target...they can't do anything other than possibly allow you to exchange your Xbox. I'd call Microsoft's Customer Service if I were you - they would be more likely to help.

If you would send a code my way, that'd be greatly appreciated. And to Whipsmartbanky- They do expire at the end of the month, but that just means that I can't play on XBL for free, it just means that after 3/31 I can't start my 2-month trial period.

Does anyone know what brand (DSL or Cable) works with xbox live? If, unfortunately, it doesn't work with my cable modem, I'll have 2 subscription codes to give to whoever needs them. That should give you all the info you need. I haven't heard of any specific brand/model of modem not working. I know there may be some router problems, so you may want to look into that.

I'll PM the code back to you, and even mail the card out to you if you like. (with a stamp. Not rushed or Fed Ex) No strings, FREE. Just let me check to see if I still have it. I'll edit this message in a moment.

(edited) Found it. It is a 2 month Xbox Live trial card. Supposedly valid for setting up an account starting before 3-31-04. If anyone can use it just send me a PM.

Well, I'm pretty sure that this trial card came WITH Project Gotham Racing 2, as I just found it tucked behind the instruction manual. It's the first live game that I have purchased new, so I can't think of where else it could have come from.

I also cannot buy xbox live rite now because im 14 and do not hve a job. It feels kinda weird asking for something in my first post here but i really want a code because i want to play XBL. i used my year free trial card like a year after it expired and it still worked, so i dont think the dates really matter.
