This guy's a real piece of work, if you get to the end of the description you'll see that it says it's only for information about getting a DS not even the real thing. I hope he doesn't get away with this, if whoever pays him uses a credit card they'll get the chargeback easily.

I just emailed the high bidder. The seller is such a scammer. These people on ebay piss me off. I don't care if he does put a disclaimer in the message stating that he is not selling a DS and that he will not refund you for not reading every last word.

If you display a fucking ad with 100 sentences about the item and then 1 line saying something that negates the whole ad it is not right. If you were a store you would be sued for false advertising. Ebay needs to shut these people down or they are going to have some serious lawsuits.

I hate people who do that crap... they should be banned from Ebay.

The seller made a mistake though. He still kept the shipping as First class mail. I'm pretty sure he wasn't going to send the buyer the info in an envelope. I bet the buyer could use that to negate the auction. Also it went at 217 arent the systems only $150?

That dude should be ashamed of himself. All his auctions are "fine print" scams... (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQgotopageZ1QQsassZebag24QQsorecordsperpageZ50Q QsosortorderZ1QQsosortpropertyZ1) I notice that most of the scam auctions with video games on Ebay use stock photos too. That should be a warning right there. If it is not an original photo, I'd be wary of buying.

That is so BS, they should definately ban these type of sellers. Yeah I know the people that bid on this stuff could be a little smarter but that is just wrong!

icemanjmw13
11-19-2004, 01:55 PM
Agreed. The bidders should have been smarter that's true. However he knew he would catch some people because there are parents out there bidding on multiple auctions, and by the time they get to his auction they probably ready the first 40 lines and thus missed the disclaimer.
Ebay really needs to start cracking down on these people.

The buyer must be some mass purchaser on ebay. They wrote me back saying which auction number which seller?

Yeah, I agree that these types of auctions are wrong, but people do need to read everything carefully....I'm not saying what that guy did was right, far from it, and I hope the high bidder gets out ok...

haha what the hell is that suppose to mean? What a tool.

That reminds of a skit from Mr. Show. Bob and David are walking down the street when they're approached by a shady guy asking them if they wanna get some speakers. Bob and David say sure and they all pile into a van through the side door. They then immediately go out the back end of the van and find themselves in front of a Circuit City. They go into the store and the shady guy very politely asks an empoyee about a set of speakers. The employee gives him the price of the speakers which he then relays to Bob and David in a very sneaky under-handed tone. Bob and David agree, and the shady guy tells the employee that he'd like to purchase them. Hilarious.

I checked his other auctions and he has two of these DS auctions up. But I think he screwed himself over by saying he's selling the rights to the information. So couldn't the winner of the first auction just collect on whatever money the seller makes because the seller no longer has the rights to that information and is selling without his permission?

eBay needs to make a requirement that the picture with your item MUST show what you are actually auctioning. I'm not saying it couldn't be a stock photo, but you couldn't show a stock photo of the DS in this case and then be selling something other than a DS. That would cut out a lot of this BS.

Seems like a stupid scam to me. He's going to have all the PayPal payments charged back, plus get hit with a bunch of negative feedback. I'm guessing he's counting on having some weenies among the buyers who will just roll over and not complain.

Just checked his feedback and he's already gotten his first neg from an auction that ended just a few hours ago. Either for the one linked in this thread or one just like it.

Well the winner of this auction shouldnt have left negative feedback and said spam, he should have left neutral feedback and said "i'm a moron."

Me too. I remember people paying $1000 to get "info" on where to get a PS2 when it first came out.

But then I wonder how many actually pay?

At least while these scammers on ebay they stay off of sites like this. :D

I think if someone's too stupid to catch what's really beiong sold then they deserve it.

But I also think that the seller should be anally raped with a red hot poker.

This auction violates several ebay policies. It is not listed in informational products and is only for info, it has DS and Nintendo in the title when it is not actually selling a DS, it does not say it is for info in the title, and this type of info is not allowed to be sold on ebay.

Someone had an auction up early the title was something like
"Get the new Nintendo handheld, nintendo game boy DS SP GBA"
Then the description if you read hard enough you saw it was only for a GBA SP, even though the pic was of the DS. Luckily it seems that was bad enough for Ebay to stop, sorry I don't have the number.

update I emailed the bidder in trying to help her out. It turns out the asshat made a mistake he emailed her the info instead of delivering by first class postage as the auction said. Hopefully ebay will fraud it out.

Someone bought a copy of Halo SE from him for $71. Why spend that much money, I don't get it.

I dunno I was wondering the same thing maybe a fake auction or something to build his feedback. Although it ended near release so maybe the bidder thought they would be sold out

The buyer already left negative feedback...

Reminds me of the simpsons where bart falls in the well.

After Bart's rescue, Homer tells Bart, "Don't worry, son. They're going to make sure no one ever falls down this well again.''

After the field is restored to its former glory, Groundskeeper Willy hammers into the ground about thirty feet from the well a small sign that reads simply, 'Caution: Well.'

"Thaht should dew it.''
