Well it seems Pirates isnt coming out for Xbox - which was the way I was looking forward to, to play this game. But it is coming out soon for the PC. Who here is going to get it? I need a new video card and more RAM to get it to work.

This is by far my favorite screen:

Im hoping to get the stuff I need to update this computer to play Pirates this Xmas. I definitely dont want to miss out on it, since I was a huge fan of Civilization.

For you Civilization fans, I hope to see you all on Pirates later this month :)

Anyways, I guess I should re-ask who here is getting Pirates for the PC?

I have too many new games to play to pick it up now, but I will probably be getting it in a month or so

I loved Pirates Gold on Genesis. I'm anticipating this game a lot more than Half Life 2 (which I have only passing interest in) I've got it preordered on Gamestop.com, since I had some money in my paypal account, I used that to order it

Does it play just like Pirate's Gold?
I loved that game.
I just haven't found enough info about this new version to know wether I will get it or not. If it's like pirate's gold im definitely getting it.

I'd imagine it has a lot of the same play as Pirates Gold, but it updated. IGN just reviewed it and gave it a 9.2

Yes, it does. There are some things that are more streamlined and there are some features added here and there, but it's just as addictive and fun as Pirates! Gold but with better graphics. I highly recommend picking it up if you loved Pirates! Gold.

Pirates Gold was one of my all time favorite games. Simple, yet addictive. If you're looking for a game similiar to this on XBox, I heard Pirates of the Carribean carries somewhat similiar gameplay but maybe not as large in scope. I believe Gamespot gave it a 7.6 rating. I got it for 12.50 at EB at the 2 for 25 deal so I'll let you know how it is.

I'll get this when the expansion comes out and then it goes on sales as a double pack.

I want it, but... Its $50. Plus the Xbox version comes out in May... I'll buy it in May, the summer is usually pretty weak so I don't think I'll be buying much else.

Honestly, though, it does get repetitive. The more I play it, as much fun as it is, I really can't see this as a justifiable 50 dollar game. Whenever it hits the point of being 30, absolutely pick it up. However, if you were a fan of Pirates! Gold, again, this is a must buy.
