Run, do not walk, from DMC2, ESPECIALLY if you loved the original. Poorly made game all around. Not worth $16. $5 rental fee was too much for me, beat it in a couple of hours, felt completely dissatisfied.

This game is $15 if you buy this at Best Buy using the GGC.

Plus the game is 19.99 new at Target, so its hardly a deal... You could get a raincheck on KillZone (24% off) and it around the same...

I agree. The game is made by different developers and it shows. This is easily my most disappointed game of 2003

Well I picked it up anyways. By the way, its $16.99, and the sale lasts until this coming Saturday March 27. I figured what the hell. I collect Capcom games anyways.

Confirmed $16.99 in Bend, Oregon.

I liked DMC2, after being a fan of the 1st. I liked the level design in DMC2, but I hated how they toned down the character of Dante. :(

I'll wait for it to drop to $10.

This game is a joke compared to the first one. It's incredibly easy, and lacks all of the intensity and fun of DMC. Play the original, or Viewtiful Joe, which was made by the first's development team.

i picked it up even though i played it through before on a rental

i still think it is a fun, workmanlike, worthwhile game; its problem is that it is a follow-up to one of the 5 best next gen console games ever

plus i just happened to have a $17 credit at target

I picked it up just because I need more action games in my collection, game isn't nearly that bad, just super easy compared to the first.

This sale is nationwide, and was in their Sunday ad.

The game has been dropped in price to $19.99, I am not sure if it is a GH or a Sony Value game at this point. Like many price drops, Target will run a sale to promote the price change with a sale, in this case for $16.44.

The sale is over this Saturday, like all sales.

No offense, but u must not be very good cheap ass gamers if u are not scouring the Sunday ads...

Nifty game.

I'd imagine that the Cheap Assness is in how much we're willing to pay for a game, rather than our ability. If we had the ultimate ability to find the deals, we'd less likely be at this site; we'd just be happy playing what we found for great deals.

You guys must be smoking crack. I love this game.

You're the one smoking crack. What is it you like, the awful translation, the ho-hum gameplay, or the fact that it can be completed in a sitting, provided you don't get bored and put it aside.

I rented the damn thing awhile back, and was angry I spent my $5 on it. DMC is one of my favs of this generation, DMC2 is on my worst games list.

I agree with redgopher. I thought it was a great action game.

Perhaps it could have been, had I not played the original beforehand. As it is, it was like bagging a supermodel, only to come back for seconds and have her be morbidly obese and sweating chicken grease and nicotine.

DMC2 is like sloppy seconds with a chick you didn't want to bag in the first place.

Well, DMC2 is my first DMC, and I think it is fantastic and abso-fuckin-lutely kick ass. Of course when I play the original whenever it comes in from a trade, I'll probably think the first is better, but still I really enjoy DMC2. I'm surprised it got such shitty ratings on all the review sites.

WildWop

It got shitty ratings from reviewers who had played the original, to which the sequel is a mere shadow. Consider yourself lucky that you can appreciate 2, then appreciate the original even more having played a far worse execution of the same formula.

I totally agree with WildWop. I played through the first one five times over, while the second I rented and beat in one sitting with no desire to ever touch it again. The boss fights lack any of the intensity and risk/reward that made the first so fun. Most of the bosses in two you can just stand in a corner, or right next to them and pound away at the guns. Hopefully the original development team saves the series with 3.

You do have a good point, the bosses so far are really easy, which does kind of suck. But in general the game is pretty good.
