You guys have any recommendations for good single player games that are similar?

You're looking for platformers I take it.

NeoGAF has a terrific thread detailing the great games in the Wii lineup. It should help you out and hopefully does.

New Super Mario Bros. is a good one obviously.
Probably not for everyone but my kids really liked Sonic Colors.
Boom Blox Party is good.
A Boy and His Blob was well worth it also.
Also, if you liked Lego Harry Potter try some of the older Lego Games. Lego Indiana Jones (the 1st one) was my personal favorite.

Okami... it will keep you busy the entire summer, at least it did me a couple years ago.

If you like puzzle games with a point and click interface, Zack & Wiki is an awesome game... and one of my favorites on the system.

I recommend Okami, No more Heroes, Mario Kart Wii, and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Agree with those mentioned. Also want to add Metroid Prime 3 (it's not a shooter, it's not a platformer, but it is a great game)
Little King's Story, again, not a platformer, you could make an argument it is in the Pikmin branch, but either way it is an overlooked gem
Bully, MadWorld, de Blob, Red Steel 2, Muramasa, Rabbids Go Home, Deadly Creatures, Overlord Dark Legend, Lost in Shadows, Spyborgs - these are all 2nd tier titles, each of which have flaws and wouldn't be considered great, but any of which also can be lots of fun depending on how much you like the type of game
Also, don't know if wiiware is an option, but there are 5-10 really good/great wiiware games worth checking out. A site like nintendolife.com is a good metric for those games.

metroid prime 3 is probably the most annoying game ive played
all the boss battles take like half an hour of running in circles and the save points arent obvious
muramasa has just terrible controls

Madworld gets really repetitive.
I would suggest also
Epic yarn
Wario Shake It
Trauma Center
