RPG fans who don't yet have Grandia 2, the game is $4.90 at Outpost.com. It's an excellent game, and the port is actually pretty good (I actually prefer it to the Dreamcast version.) If you don't have this RPG, regardless of whether you want it or not, pick it up since it's only $4.90.

The only thing I didn't like about the game was what they made you do at the ending. Seemed kind of like a cliche. Just like megaman

I have the DC version- both US and Japanese. The game is excellent. Buy it if you don't have it.

Perhaps I should pick this up, as Ive been looking at this game for quite some time, although I hear the PS2 and PC ports are pretty bad(and I dont have a DC). Does anyone know what version is better?
Edit: Also, do you need to play the first one to understand the second. Ive also been meaning to get the first one.

Kaijufan,

This game stands alone and you don't need to know anything about the original Grandia in order to play it and understand it (though it was a good game and is worth your while.) Of the PS2 and PC ports, I'd say that the PC version is better due to the higher resolution possible with a PC. It just looks nicer than the PS2 version. It's not that bad a port though, and I've had no problems with the PC version.

this was a great game, I played the DC version and really liked it. And I don't usually like rpgs. No random battles really made this a winner. The one thing I did not like was that you didn't really interact wtih the towns people in the game. You don't have to listen to any of the conversations. They don't give anything useful except details of the story.

The PS2 port is better. It has less bugs than the PC version, and usually runs better.

Of course, the DC version is the perferred version

And Grandia is completely seperate from Grandia II

I played it with the VGA adapter for DC. I guess it probably doesn't look all that special by todays standards but it looked great back then but yes, it is a great game, if just for the battle system. Some people were kinda meh on the story but I thought it was great. The other grip people had with it was Ryudo's disregard for feelings. Dunno, I thought it was just fine.

Friend gave it to me, and it was OK. Couldn't get into it. Traded it at EB.

any free shipping codes for otupost? they always rip me off! the last order i placed, they said the cheapest shipping was 5.25, but the 2nd day is 5.50.... how is that possible that 2 day air is only 25 cents more than ground? their "handling" prices suck.
