Oh crap, it's back!!!

For those who haven't seen it, BUY 24!!! Oh man, I started it one night thinking it'd be crap, but I started watching.. I was literally up until 6am the next few nights, I was hooked. It's AWESOME!!!

Anyone seen Millenium? Is that any good?

The only ones I want here are King of the Hill, Futurama, and Simpsons!

ditto on 24, i just finished watching season 2 on dvd and I don't know how people can watch this show week to week without being able to immediately fire up the next episode and the next, and the next..

Nice! Great if you missed out on the Amazon deal. I'm in for Dark Angel since I already got Futurama, Angel, and 24 from the Amazon sale.

So far I'm getting Dark Angel, Shield, and another 24 as a gift. Shield is a blind buy but I hear so many good things. Hope it captivates me as much as 24 did.

I have never boughten anything from buy.com. Are they reputable?

im wondering the same thing....no1 has really answered your question, so im bumping it....ive heard that they're okay, but if something goes wrong, you have no way of contacting them to let them know...so in the chance that a mistake is made, you're screwed...

the only acceptable mistake for me, would be accidently sending X Files (any season) instead of one of my 3 seasons.

I bought a good deal of stuff from them in 1999 and 2000, and I'd say its been about a year and a half to two years since the last time I bought from them, never had a complaint. I got a printer with a defective print head, i clicked around the site and was able to get a prepayed UPS label that I cuold just print and slap on the box to send back to them, didnt have to email or talk to anyone, they sent me a replacement and its been chugging along ever since.

I didn't answer the question originally because I thought it was sarcasm. Buy.com has been around for a long time and they used to be a good source for deals during the dot.com boom.

I've bought a few things from them. They are definitely reputable. The only downside is you usually don't receive your order as quickly as other sites, such as Amazon.

The Shield probably edges out 24 and Sopranos on my short list of favorite tv shows right now... picked mine up for about 20 a few months after it was releases and watched the entire season over a weekend...

The pilot ranks as one of the best series introductions of all time in my opinion (as does the first episode of Sopranos)... very disturbing and riveting... cant wait for season 4... :)

Thanks for the deal! I was kicking myself for not ordering Millennium at Amazon the last time around. So I picked up Millennium, The Shield, and M*A*S*H (for my Dad). I also ordered Iron Giant (12.99) to put me over 50 so I could use the 5 dollar coupon.

I was going to buy The Shield this weekend because I had a 10% off coupon at Best Buy. It still would have been about $55. Man, am I glad I didn't. I cleamed up on Amozaon last time, now I am adding the following:

Angel
Dark Angel
In Living Color
The Shield

Thanks for posting this sweet, sweet deal. Also, does anyone have a good DVD storage shelf/contaner with doors? My wife does not like the open bookshelf look. Between my XBOX games and these DVD sets, I am really running out a space and need new storage solution with doors.

Thanks!

Soooo not worth it, unless maybe you are there for something else. I didn't get 24 this time, since I got it last Xmas for $25 from Costco (a great price at the time), but order 24 and something else from buy.com and shipping is free. Plus no tax for a lot of people makes it roughly the same as 12.99 + tax.

Wow great deal, thanks. It had a lot better selection than the amazon sale. I had to pick up the Shield for that price.

Damn it... I paid $29 shipped for MillenniuM a few weeks ago after missing it on Amazon.

Did you notice how it's always only the first seasons? It's like a gateway drug, to get you hooked on the series and make you buy the other episodes at almost-full price.

eldad9
11-24-2004, 01:38 PM
Anyone seen MilleniuM? Is that any good?

It's probably the darkest show on TV. It's very powerful, but it's all about the journey, not the destination (most of season 1 is "catching serial killers before they kill again"). Only in the 2nd season do things start to get weird.

Even the title sequence alone is a masterpiece.

Again: it's not a fun show. Do not buy it to be entertained. Buy it for its tone and mood.

Bah, what a scheme. All of the sale titles now have an availability status of "In Stock Soon", which ruins the free shipping deal. Still, at these prices, I suppose I shouldn't be complaining too much.

The free shipping was taken away sometime yesterday. None of the $14.99 titles qualify anymore. Still doesnt kill the deal if you haven't already ordered. I think its less than $5.

Josef

Isn't this a case of false advertising? The email I got says "the product qualifies for free shipping" - referring to the $14.99 FOX sets.

Actually, the shipping isn't that bad. It's only $1.90 for one set.

Is anyone else having a hard time getting stuff to go "in your basket" when shopping? I want that Shield set!

Three browsers (NS, IE, and FF) and they still don't let it show up. Cookies are on, and its not working! BB does this sometimes to me as well...

Ordered last Wednesday,

Futurama
MASH
The Shield (based on the good reviews I've been hearing)
24 (never seen it, should be great)

Was thinking about Millenium but I read it is not for everyone. Very dark and depressing and kind of graphic. I may rent a disc to see if it's my sort of thing.

Does "24" have any rewatchibility, or is it a watch it and forget it type deal?

I should get mine today hopefully.....

The SHield
Millennium
In Living Color

(I may EBAY one or two to cover costs though....not sure yet, since I probably don't have time to watch half of these since the Amazon sale)
