It came in a box because the manual couldn't fit into a normal PS2 game with the 2 DVDs that were already inside. So instead, they just gave it a 2nd box.

I bought my copy at CC when the game was barely out a week, when CC had their sale of $39.99. I seriously thought that would be the cheapest price I'd see. Oh well, the game is fantastic. My favorite game all year.

That's not true.. I took the manual and put it in the DVD case, it fits fine.

manual fits just fine ..the LE has a special fighting mode for characters..i havent unlocked it yet..but the box is pretty damn nice looking :-p

Square Enix only released one version in North America. Thats the one with the paper box.

Yeah, I picked up this too, along with Tales of Symphonia. Target had one of the best BF sales IMHO.

I can confirm this one, saw it yesterday at work, we had a few copies left, outta Tales though, glad I picked it up around 9am.

There is no LE version of SO:TTEOT. Any version you see without the box, means someone's getting screwed. Square-Enix did it to make the game stnad out more.

The fighting mode is part of the directors cut, which is the only version that came out in the US.

Yep so we all get LE editions. :lol: I bet it will be like Kingdom Hearts though, if a GH version comes out the box for it will probably look like crap.

You can definitely count on the case not being as fancy IF there is a GH version. Once it gets to $20, I'll pick it up. Right when it goes GH and you can still find a few copies of the original, non-GH case.
