I'm sure they're hard to come by, considering that they don't make those anymore [ because people complained that the controller was too big ].

I prefer the "duke" for FPS games, everything else i use the smaller one.

Is that a flukey auction or do they tend to go for that much? I saw a dozen or so of those somewhere within the last month. Can't remember the store, but I remember thinking 'Wow, the old Dukes still on the shelf!'

Just did a search myself and new ones seem to go for $45-50+ so that one is a bit high but not way out of whack. Used ones often go for around $15-20.

I am not sure why MS doesn't just manufacture both because I know a lot of people that would rather play with the big controller than the smaller one, including myself since I have big hands.

I know a few of my friends who love the Duke's, and can't stand the S.

Some games are better to play with 'ol Duke! FPS are great with it for instance.

I still can't believe the high bidding on that auction, though

I know at least one person that likes the Duke controller better then the S controller, but its hard to believe that anyone would pay that much for a controller.

That's insane, these were still available at my local Radio Shack no more than a couple of months ago...

I saw them at K-Mart for $15 a few weeks ago. I didn't know there was any demand for them.

These are still available at several stores near me.

I like the size and the placement of the white and black buttons. The problem I have is the skewed button placement. I prefer to have my buttons in a cross pattern.

I prefer the Duke to the S overall. The placement of the white and black buttons on the S is just too awkward for me. I have fairly large hands (I can palm a basketball), so the Duke is just a better fit for me. Plus, the system I played most before Xbox was the Dreamcast, so I was already used to the overall shape of the Duke (because it's similar to the Dreamcast controller). There are, however, some games for which I prefer to use the controller S: in the Tony Hawk series, or any games that require rapid button-mashing, the ABXY buttons are too close together on the Duke and I end up hitting two of them at a time by accident. It's a shame that MS doesn't make them anymore, and that they go for so much on eBay; I'd like to buy a few sometime.

Thanks guys. I found a stash of sealed Dukes close to my house and am making about $15 profit on each one. Didn't realize there was any demand for them.

Just saw someone sell 2 Dukes on another forum for $25 shipped.
