Will Monkey Island 3 work on Windows XP?

Will Monkey Island 3 work on Windows XP?

I would assume so, but if not by the default install, you can download this.

http://www.scummvm.com/

It's an emulator for the old Lucas Arts games. Very easy to use, pretty much point and click. You just tell it what folder MI3 is installed, and it does the rest.

Nice find, just ordered both.

Can't beat those classic point and click adventure games.

why are all the good deals coming out now? i have and love the first two, and would snatch this up in a second if not for the ban. ugh, defenders liquidating, these are cheap as hell, and im banned.

Most likely jewel case releases...

Curse is point and click, but it doesn't have the SCUMM interface. Escape is fully 3D.

Both games are worth the $5, although Curse is a much better game IMO. They're brilliantly written, very funny, and a lot of fun to play. They're also the last Lucasarts adventure games we'll be seeing for a while, since those bastards have cancelled Sam and Max and Full Throttle.

I'm a big Quest for Glory fan.. I've only briefly tried Monkey Island, but I hate Jewel Case releases. Again, the price..

They're jewel case releases, I've seen these in-store. Still, it's $5, what do you expect. And they are awesome games. Especially the 3rd one.

Would I be missing anything if I jumped in with #3? I never played 1 or 2.

youd miss some inside jokes and a bit of older story, but not too much, you could pick it up and play with no problem

The Curse of Monkey Island is the rollicking third installment of the popular Monkey Island game series, which includes the award-winning Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge.

Nope. I actually started with #3, and I still enjoyed the game. It's a bit better if you replay it after you've tried the original two, but the game is still a blast even if it's the first in the series that you've played.

Actually Curse doesn't come with the first two. It is actually talking about the series including the other two games, not the Curse of Monkey Island CD containing the other two.

I just picked them up at my local EB Games. There were about 4-5 copies of each one, so I was happy. They are great games, by the way :).

If you haven't done so already, buy these now if you have any shred of a sense of humor at all. These are the best point-and-click graphic adventures ever made (IMO anyway), and the entire series for $10 is a steal! I bought these discs a couple of years ago at EB (for a total of $50) when I first became interested in the series, and haven't regretted it since.

EDIT: Okay, I read the post that said that this doesn't come with the first two; wow, tricky wording by EB. Curse of MI used to come with the previous two games. Okay, what you should do instead is go to eBay and pick up the Curse of MI package that comes with the "Monkey Island Madness" CD, and then get the EMI CD from EB to complete the series.

Got my games this week, but I'm looking at the Curse of Monkey Island discs and don't see the first two games. So looks like that's a no go
