ridiculous considering they openly sell other fliptops, swap magic disks, hd loaders, etc

You should be able to, unless you use the boot discs to play an import, it is just like a normal unmodded system.

i also have a HD and NA that i was going to sell seperately

and there is no reason it wont go online (i cant becuase my college blocks all entertainment ports :( ) if you have the original disk, then i dont see why sony would even care....now if you are trying to play it off the harddrive or something, it probably wouldnt work online

exactly, and i wasnt selling any disks with it, or a harddrive or anything...it was just a system with a different case on it, nothing wrong with that!!!

ive emailed like 8 people and hopefully will have a response by tommorow....and will probably relist it!!

YoshiFan1
12-01-2004, 09:54 PM
Yeah it's ridiculous it the auction was cancelled, especially because the intent of the fliptop is to play imports which is legal.

blackjaw
12-01-2004, 09:58 PM
well they seem to think playing imports is illegal, or something

i specifically said that there was NO MODCHIP inside, its just a regular 50001 ps2 with a different case

oh well, hopefully someone will see their errors and correct it so i can frekin graduate!!

and if not, expect to see this in the trading forums...haha

Yeah, I agree, but I think the OP really didn't do a great job of articulating his problem. His argument was "everyone else is doing it so why can't I". He probably should have just asked why his auction was cancelled since he isn't selling anything illegal or pirated. Figure people posting there probably don't know much about video games and probably just thought he was selling illegal stuff and complaining that others weren't getting busted.

Does it really play JAP imports??

MegoW64
12-02-2004, 12:51 AM
Does it play imports and how much do you want for it?

blackjaw
12-02-2004, 01:07 AM
Does it really play JAP imports??

sure with a swap magic disk or gameshark, any ps2 will play imports, a flip top just makes it easier since you dont have to physically pull the drive out to triick the ps2

MegoW64, i was looking for 120 shipped on ebay, but i will do 100 and you pay shipping, whichever method you choose, im going to put it on the CAG trading forum eventually

$120 is an awesome deal, I know a few guys that might be interested

(I would totally snatch it up but I dont get paid for another week)

yes, that is a good point....i was just rather frustrated due to the urgency of needing the money..haha

there were better ways to get around the problem, but i chose the rather harsh way...i mean, anyone that knows vid games wouldve known what i was trying to say, but those idiots dont

oh well, still waiting for ebay to email me back

Well my advice is to trade the thing for a regular PS2 then sell the normal one on ebay. Not as much money but maybe you could make a little in a trade for a normal PS2

You cant sell that but you can sell a piece of grill cheese that has a face in it for 28,000. Just etch some picture into it and say it was sent from heaven.

Sucks. Your problem may have resulted from your pointing out that it can play imports and legal backups with a swap disc in the auction.

I know that would be a great selling point, but maybe your auction wouldn't have been pulled if you had simply left that out and trust that people who want to do that stuff would know what's what.

Even so I don't think that should have been pulled. Maybe Sony is watching for auctions of those style systems and having them all pulled that they find?

Crappy situation as doesn't their standard e-mail mention that if you relist the item your account would/could be suspended?
