In store at FYE they had a few good coupons, the best of which was Tony Hawk 4 for Xbox and Ps2 for 9.99. That wolverine game was also on there for the same price.

Additional Coupons on the hand out were Buy any GBA SP and GBA game, save 10$. Ill post the others that were on the sheet when I can find my copy.

You know, the subject makes it look like "49.99".

FYE is a music store that sells video games as well, stands for "for your entertainment" I believe.

Where are these things usually located in the store?

I just got back from my local fye and when I asked the worker if they had any in-store hand outs or coupons she looked at me like she had never heard of such a thing.

Maybe some fyes don't participate?

They didn't have any THPS 4 anyway

whats fye?

FYE is the store that used to be The Wall or Record Town, depending what music store you had in your local mall. It seems that it's the mall record store thats not Sam Goody.

Any idea how long this deal lasts? I have to wait until payday before I get any more games... :(

or Camelot at my local mall. A place I vow to never go again. When you see a Fat Wreck Chords/Epitaph compilation disc going for $3-4 when the label clearly states do not pay more then $1.99, something is wrong.

I guess it's time for me to go on about my TransWorld Entertainment rant again, and how they are the epitome of corporate record store. I had worked at a Wall while it was still privately owned, and then purchased by camelot, who inturn was purchased by Transworld.

First the stores are basically if you take pop radio and turn it into a record store. The ordering is basically done by the record companies, with little to no interest about what is demanded in the store.

Second, the pricing is not competitive at all. Once they found out that they could get away with charging $20+ for a CD a few years ago, they tested the waters with acts like Britney, and then went crazy from there. Catalog and discontinued product (games included) tend to stay at a realitivly high, like not reducing greatest hits until well after the competition does.

Third, they hire the people who would work for the lowest amount possible, usually minimum wage. This isn't going to provide employees who are helpful, knowledgeable, or even care.

Not to mention that the company is attempting to become a semi-monopoly, trying to capture as much of the Mall markets as they possibly can. This allows them to fix a price within the market, where if you buy a CD in a mall, you'll pay $22. They've recently bought up several other small competing chains.

I won't even get into the president calling the outsourcing department "retards".

Yeah, FYE basically sucks, I think it stands for For YOur Entertainment.

Anyway, the coupons at my store were in a giant stack on the front counter. They never seem to have them out. I got a good deal on an xbox last summer, 150$ after rebate with three games. But that wasnt advertised either, luckily a guy in the store told me about the deal.

Anyway, maybe this is a YMMV deal, but the coupons were pretty official looking. They also had a pretty lame deal of buy 2 games get 8$ off, 15$ off for three etc. That did help with my overall SP deal.

The only perk about FYE is they give you more for trade in games then game stop. It seems like you get 8.50$ for most of your crap games. But I got over 20 for some games that Gamestop only offered 4.

i'm not really one of those "i won't shop there, they are corporate" types of people, but i refuse to ever buy anything from FYE. that company might be worse than walmart and best buy combined. well, it's worse than best buy at least.

when my friend lost her job at a real record store because it went out of business, she got a job at FYE. that store and company are run by idiots who know nothing about music, movies, or video games. the stores are poorly run, the employment knows little to nothing about anything (they will hire someone even if they admit they don't know anything at all about all three topics), and their prices are ridiculously high (you can find cds at other stores for $10-15, but the same cds can be found at FYE for $20+ because they take advantage of the idiots who are willing to pay $4 extra just because they are at the mall and in the store already). FYE could manage to give my friend 30% off for her employee "discount" and STILL make money off of those cds. needless to say, she eventually quit.

i'm all for getting deals on video games and pretty much anything else, but i think supporting FYE is where i draw the line.

thanks for getting the entire list Yoshifan. Not the greatest deals but THPS 4 is pretty good, especially since they give 8.50 for #3.

The game guide coupon may be good depending on what you can find. The cheapest price I saw on guides was $7.99 so 4 of them would cost $7 total with $25 off. If there are certain guides for less than it may be possible to get the guides for free or under $1 each

Is this company an affiliate of Clearchannel? It sound like what they've been doing to radio stations recently, and boy do I hate them.

I hate the FYE in Holbrook, NY. It used to be The Wall here (which was actually pretty decent). But since they became FYE, they overcharged everything by 15-30%.

I got a few decent deals from FYE recently ..

Indiana Jones Movie Collection (DVD) $24.99 after rebate
Scarface Box Set (The Black Boxed one That has extras) $39.99 after rebate

Those are about the only good deals I've ever gotten from there though..

Well, that Indiana JOnes deal is good. But that black boxed set for Scarface is only 19.99 at my FYE, and they have a lot of them.

This deal is still alive. I just scored it this weekend.

As I posted above the first FYE I checked didn't have the sheets and didn't know what the heck I was talking about, but I was at another FYE this weekend and they had a whole stack of the sheets by the register. But no copies of THPS4.

But I just took one of the coupons over to Circuit City and they accepted the coupon and I got it for $10! Sweet. Not sure if they are supposed to verify the other store has the game in stock or not? (They didn't) Guy just looked over the sheet for a long time and finally went ahead and did it.

The coupons expire 2/4/2004 so there is still over a week left on this one. Thanks for the sweet deal starman.

Glad it worked for you. It actually hasnt worked for me yet, I took it to best Buy and they called to verify if it was in stock, so i got shot down. I may have to try my luck at walmart.

No Circuit City near you? I've seen on this board a bunch on times that they claim to accept competitors coupons. Although I guess they could claim FYE is mainly just a music store so it isn't a competitor?

To me if they call the store to verify stock that isn't really accepting the coupon. (I was all ready to argue that point, but I didn't need to.) Good luck finding the deal. I'd even check back at FYE early next week on the off chance they got more THPS4 in stock. (No idea how likely that is...) The 4th is Wed.
