The Blizzard DVD collection sounds interesting. Kind of like CinemaTech on G4.

A chance for everyone to pick up one of the best games ever: Diablo.

Diablo was a fantastic game. A timeless classic! I still play it every now and again. I've had it for at least 7 or 8 years, because I remember playing it on bnet in 8th grade with some kids from middle school.

Diablo ugh...playing that game (or Diablo 2) for an hour makes me feel stupid in the head.

wouldn't the dvd collection be like....no longer than 30 minutes? because each of those games listed (starcraft, diablo 2, warcraft iii) only have about, like what, 10 minutes each? anyways, i really don't know.

i was thinking the same thing. besides the fact that they've made it "dvd" quality, have they added footage? also, can you understand what's going on without playing the games? odd product... especially for 15 bucks. anybody have it and care to comment?

It's more than 10 minutes per game but not much. I assume there is some extra footage and making of type stuff. Obviously not for everyone but considering Blizz does some of the best FMV in the industry seems like it'd be worth picking up for hardcore fans and/or aspiring animators.

EDIT: Think I'll pick up an extra SC Battlechest having spare Brood War discs is always a bonus if you have access to a LAN.

Actually the Starcraft disc is a little under an hour (original movies plus expansion), the Diablo 2 disc is around half an hour, and the Warcraft 3 disc is about 17 minutes. So overall, it's about an hour and a half of actual footage. Also the WC3 disc has the WC2 movies on it (as cheesy as they are...), and all the discs have previews/trailers of other games (and they also include a few videos that aren't availible on the main showing, such as the WC3 E3 1999 trailer).

My two big grips with the pack is that: A. the Starcraft movies are fairly skippy (like they were sloppy when they converted the frames per second), and B. the Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 discs don't include the videos from the expansions (which I think are the best videos availible for them). Aside from that, it's actually a decent little video pack. The Diablo 2 video plays like a movie, but the other two might be a little confusing if you don't know the story and what's going on (though the Starcraft videos are mainly just "random encounters" anyway and usually don't tie into the story TOO much).

aww man, they don't have the expansion videos? thats just wrong, i mean, for diablo 2, it was only..2 more videos? which equals to about 5 minutes more of footage to add on. whatever, i guess i might get this, seems pretty good, cause i never really did watch the movies for d2 or wc3....

13.99 for Frozen Throne is pretty good, but damn I just bought it.

Skip right to Diablo 2, no question. It's the same basic game, only leaps and bounds better.
