I just reported it, I don't have a problem with a seller overcharging a couple dollars on shipping but this is ridiculous.

what a cheap way to save a few bucks on Ebay listing fees. I hope he doesn't trick some dumbass into thinking they're really getting a .99 DS..

That's what I thought because it seems very misleading, and I was about to click buy it now figuring the seller listed it at the wrong price but then I saw the shipping charges of course decided I wasn't going to get it.

Congrats on 1000 posts organicow

Congrats on 1000 posts organic cow

but in the auction it says free shipping. Go for it. Worst case you get a negative.

It's immedieate payment required, so I can't buy it without paying for the shipping as well

That's free first priority instead of media mail, but yeah I'm buy it and bitch to ebay.

why even report him. 230 seems pretty fair for the ds and a supposidly rare game.

It'd be better if the DS itself costed around $200 and someone didn't bother to check shipping till after they won :)

Yeah, looks like he's trying to get away with the eBay fees.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-circumventing.html

"Users may not use systems or techniques to circumvent eBay fees."

"Unreasonable shipping or handling costs - listings with low prices but unreasonably high shipping or handling costs."

I sent him this question:

"Hi, I'd like to do a local pick up and just pay the auction amount. Is that okay with you?"

I love asking snarky/smart ass questions on these type of assy auctions.

That's pretty funny, I hope you get a convoluted response about it being in a werehouse or somthing.

"FREE USPS PRIORITY MAILING SHIPPING WITH TRACKING NUMBER. ADD ONLY $2.50 FOR INSURED."

So it seems like you only have to pay 2.50 for insurance. His other auctions don't say anything about free shipping, so if you wanna risk a negative go for it.

Dude replied and said local pickup would be fine, but he lives in Fresno CA. So I replied that's great because I have a good friend attending FSU (Fresno State U) which is actually true, though I don't really plan to try to take him up on the offer.

I'm pretty shocked he said local pickup would be cool. Odd seller.

The Buy It Now has changed to $230 and shipping is now free

Ah, well that would explain it then. I was too lazy to recheck the listing before replying

I guess he got a lot of e-mails about it and figured he risked eBay pulling the ad if he didn't change it. I don't think eBay gives warnings about this stuff, they just pull the ad right?

Yeah, no warning the auction just gets cancelled.
