What do you guys think of Fairy Tail? I've liked what I've seen on line, and I like how similar the art style is to One Piece.

I actually hated the first 12 or so episodes of Fairy Tail, but once the Galuna Island arc started (around episode 13 or 14 or something), I fell in love with it. It's a really fun show that doesn't waste any time with filler. The arcs are pretty much back to back, and each one is great. It's up to about 110 episodes now, and I'm still enjoying it just as much as I always have, so I'd recommend it if someone doesn't mind this type of show.

I like Fairy Tail. It's really just like any other shonen battle show. If you focus more on the characters and their interactions, you can forgive the now predictable path the battles will go. My only problem with these types of shows is figuring out how/when to buy the blu rays. I'm going to wait for them to end so they can more sensibly box them up like they did with DBZ. Will be a long wait, but Crunchy is streaming it so I don't care!

Slipcovers usually are only around for the first pressing. Depending on how long FLCL and Samurai Champloo have been out it could be a crapshoot. I just got the new release of Witchblade and Burst Angel from amazon last week and they both had slips.... But they were just re-released at the end of October.

It can wildly vary. I ordered Baccano on Black Friday, and that order arrived last Saturday. The longest I've had to wait for anything was Crest of the Stars which I ordered in February and received in May.

Finally an update on my second order. It looks like the whole thing is being held back from shipping by Amagami SS v2 being OOS. Guess their stock system was wrong? To be honest, I don't think I would be able to do it with today's market. It used to be easier when companies were tanking and the market was recovering. I used to sell Anime Japanamation VHS in the late 90s, but I got out of it around the time of the crash. I actually tried to buy out large stock when some companies went under, but that didn't work out. For a few years I poached some cheap stuff and dumped it to pay for the habit, but now I mainly just sell off my doubles of "new" old stock.

I think if people are really into Anime, they could still do it though.

If you were able to order it, then you're pretty much guaranteed to receive it once they get some more stock in, especially with something like Amagami SS Vol 2, which was just released on November 1st.

The only items I've had canceled were two volumes of Kare Kano, but I ordered those after Tokyopop died, and it had been years since those two volumes had even been released.

As for me, a few days ago I made my last purchase. I bought the Tsubasa OVAs on Blu Ray (to go with all the other cheap Tsubasa blus I got from other places). I also picked up the Genshiken 2 Bundle and the Holiday version of the complete Chrono Crusade (same cost as the one in the sale, and it has the original 7 discs from the singles release) as gifts.

If I do get them to cancel the item, will they charge me for shipping the other items? If not, I can always give a late gift. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Yep :D In fact, I'm doing it again for my Brother-in-law this Christmas since the copy of Last Exile I ordered for him is backordered. Although this time I'm going to cut a text bubble out of a sticky note and attach it to an extra copy of Disc 1 that I have lying around.

I can usually watch the thought process go from "Why is this box empty? What, it's a printout . . . what the . . . of a . . . it says 'coming soon' . . . oh, it's that thing I wanted. Oh it didn't come in the mail yet, I get it. Thank you." ^_^

Well, my box of stuff arrived today, and it was almost perfect.

My Now and Then case had some rattling on the inside of the case, and when I opened it up, bits and pieces of the case, the tray, and the disc were what was sliding around in the case.

Needless to say it wasn't the best result I was looking for, but at least customer service gave me a refund for it since they aren't getting anymore back in stock for replacement, which is sadface.

But at least everything else in the box was fine, just that one, which strangely enough was on the padded side of the box, and yet was damaged compared to the anime on the other side that wasn't padded. @_@

I've only watched 2 episodes so far of this version on Blu-Ray and have to say I think its probably the best version out there, but that said it its not a huge as say from a live action non anime dvd to a blu-ray but I believe Samurai Champloo was done in standard definition anyway but not 100% on that.I'm not quite the video transfer expert so may not wanna take what I just said about it too much but looks good for what it is.I know the previous blu-ray set before this one had people crying of a bad upscale.I haven't noticed it with this but then again I'm only 2 episodes into it and haven't seen it in a bit.Seems decent to me though from what you can expect from most animes on blu-ray.

I'm happy with it though.Looks great and I suspect the best release of it we'll see.

Wow that is pretty expensive. I don't think I can afford those type of special edition or imports. Usually I'm willing to spend at least 30-50 dollars for a box set/collector's edition box set with both dub and sub. Subtitled only editions are pretty pricey these days.

To follow up on it slightly.Now on the second disc out of three and overall the quality seems real nice.I'd recommend it but then again I'm not an expert in the video conversion area.

Yeah Gankutsuou was awesome.Just got around to watching it like 2 years ago and it was probably the best anime I saw for that year.Was thrown off by the visuals for the first few episodes but got use to it and just excellent story telling.
