when i try to turn on my SNES, the red light in front flashes on for a second then it doesn't turn on at all. i've tried it several places in my house, different outlets and that didn't seem to work. Is it just the power adaptor or do i need a new nintendo?

thanks,

hM

If you have a NES adapter try that, I think they're the same voltage.

nintendo's selling snes adapters for $15 at their site, not the best deal but thats the route for new 'official' ones i guess. otherwise just ebay it, i c plenty third party ones going for around $5.

It may be the actual power supply board. If a different adapter doesn't work, it may be fried

my cartridges are loose when plugged in, and are hard to keep in that one spot that works... I'm tempted to dig in and see if I can adjust something to get the plug portion of the console to tighten up (it is the part wiggling, if I recall). Anyone have any experience with this?

Bad connectors. Replace the connector pin unit, and everything will be kosher.

NES adaptor wont work, the connector that plugs into the
snes is bigger than the NES one

on an unrealted note ironically a NES adaptor for power and the rf switch works in a sega genesis and vice versa.

if you play with the cord it should work. I usually tie a knot to the bottom and it works like new.

I believe the SNES, Nintendo 64, and the Gamecube al use the same power- AC adapter.

They don't. The N64 has the power supply part plugging into the system. The GCN has a different shaped plug as well. None of them are anything alike. Have you even used these systems?!?!?

Sorry...I'm think ing of the A/V cables, not he power supply.

Yes, the A/V cables are interchangeable for the SNES, N64 and GCN.
