YOU'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!

I love Pablo Francisco, and watch Latino Laugh Festival: The Show whenever he's on.

But my fave comedian is George Carlin.

I dunno that I really have a favorite, but I saw Christopher Titus's Norman Rockwell is Bleeding and thought it was damn brillant. Then it made me sad that his show was cancelled.

I was going to say him, but the thing is, he rarely gets any new material... its the same stuff every time and its really lame after a while.

But he's very very funny. I'm thinking about picking up his dvd.

Also Zach Galafinakis (sp) is great too

Ah, now that might be a wiser choice. Lewis Black is intelligent, he just doesn't have any comedic timing. I bet he's a great comedy writer.

i haven't had a chance to hear or see his stand up act, but his bits on the daily show are great.

david cross is totally the funniest guy around right now. i also think dave attell's stand up is really funny, even though his "insomniac" show isn't very good. the cd patton oswalt released kind of recently ("feelin' kinda patton") is pretty good, not exactly to the extent of favorite, but good nonetheless. if you are including live comedy shows, i would have to throw in the name of "stella" (group with michael ian black, michael showalter and david wain from "the state"), but that may be taking it too far.

Dane Cook and Pablo Francisco are among my new school favorites. Also like Bill Burr ("Cracker ass motherfuckers" had me cracking up so much). Classic guys like Pryor and Carlin, Chappelle (show kind of hurt him as he's gotten way too popular for stuff like "I'm Rick James bitch").

Nice to see others here like stand up too...

[EDIT] Editted out my crappy list...

Tons of you mentioned David Cross but no one mentioned his good friend, Bob Odenkirk. Bob Odenkirk is (in my book) the funniest guy around. His work on SNL, Mr. Show, and the Ben Stiller Show can't be beat. Amazingly funny and witty.

Well, I just saw Steven Wright a couple weeks ago and I laughed the whole time. I was amazed that he could just keep up the routine for like 1 hour 40 minutes plus.

And Carlin, Pryor, R. Williams, and I've been listening to Bill Hicks lately.

Anyone remember when Comedy Central aka the Comedy Channel used to have Stand Up Stand Up and shows like that??? I found out about lots of comedians that way.

Definately George Carlin. He's probably the only person to ever get rich from a degree in Philosophy.

Richard Pryor was funny too

bob's work is hilarious, without a doubt. everything from his older stuff (like what you mentioned) to his more recent stuff ("melvin goes to dinner" which he directed, that new show on adult swim called "tom goes to the mayor", heck, he was even funny in those beer commercials). the only reason i left his name out is because when it comes to a stand-up setting, i don't think he's that funny, and i think there is a major difference between comedian and comedic performer/writer. like, just for example, larry david is a really funny guy, but you can't really call him a comedian. but yeah, bob odenkirk is funny.

i don't find dane cook funny, but maybe that's just me.

Man, I can't believe Bill Hicks isn't getting any love in this post.

While Hicks was unbelievably funny, you gotta remember he's been dead for what, almost 10 years now? Way before most of these CAGs time. As a matter of fact before my time to, but lucky for me my older brother was a huge fan and I got hooked in the last few years.

Anyways, my favs are:

Old school: George Carlin, Bill Hicks, BillCosby (best clean comedian ever).
New School: Mitch Hedburg, Daniel Tosh(haven't seen him mentioned yet, if you see his comedy central special you'll know why).

Ralphie May, George Carlin, Lewis Black, Robert Schimmel, Eddie Izzard, Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison...by far the King of all Kings of stand up is Paul Mooney.

I never knew who paul mooney was till i saw chapelle's show ask a black man. Not long after that, i got satellite radio and the uncensored comedy station plays his stuff and even though its years old, its extremely funny and ive never laughed harder.
