Ah damn, I had remembered someone was selling a Sony HDD and I had been looking for the thread for an hour or so, too late... Guess I'll try bidding on it, am I to understand all that comes with it is the hardware, none of the utility discs?

A quick questions blackjaw. Are those PS2 cases difficult/dangerous to install? I fliptopped my PS2 ok, but how hard is it to change the bottom half of the shell? Can you kill your PS2 doing it?

A quick questions blackjaw. Are those PS2 cases difficult/dangerous to install? I fliptopped my PS2 ok, but how hard is it to change the bottom half of the shell? Can you kill your PS2 doing it?

super easy to do...the only thing that you have to do for the bottom part of the shell is unscrew the mem card/controller port (1 screw) and the fan (1 screw) and power switch (1 screw)

the hardest part of the whole thing is putting the fan and power switch into their little casing so that the colors flowed all the way around (so it wasnt just black around the fan and power switch)....but even that took about 5 minutes (just because i was being super careful and babying the system)

overall on ease of installation id say it was a 9/10... i made the mistake of tightening the screws to much the first time (i mean, i didnt want the case to be loose) but that actually pulls the magnet part of the fliptop too close to the disk spinner, so i had to loosen it a little bit

easy as shit to do and pretty :)

I really liked that PS2 you were selling. If you had been selling it about 7 months sooner, I would've bought it, lol. I just bought a new PS2 not too long ago. I may, however, get one of those clear cases and sell my black fliptop to a friend. :)

yeah, i got my fliptop clear case from www.ps2fliptop.com i got them to price match the price and shipping from www.estarland.com (only because ps2fliptop.com took paypal and i had lots of paypal credit built up....haha)

i loved the look of it and the function, i just had to sell it to pay off a college bill to graduate....boooo

but my g/f is getting me a slim ps2 for christmas/birthday/graudation present....so that rocks
