Ebay Auction: Could this LIVE card be expired?

I just sold a copy of Tiger Woods 2005 on Ebay. I bought the game about 2 weeks ago and it only came out a couple of months ago. In my auction, I stated that the 2-month LIVE trial was included (which it was). I didn't bother to check the expiration date on the card before I sent the game. The guy who got the game just sent me an e-mail saying the card was expired and asked if I would refund the value of the card, so I have two questions:

#1) Could the card already be expired for such a new game?

#2) Does anyone have a 2-month trial code they can PM me, so I can settle this? I would be willing to pay a dollar or two through PayPal for a valid code.

I doubt it expired already, but if it has, I'm pretty sure Microsoft has allowed expired cards before. Especially because it comes with the game and the game may not be purchased until months later.

I agree, but on the back of the card it says value $10.99 or something like that. I have a flawless Ebay rating which I don't want to compromise, and this joker said it was the deciding factor in purchasing my game.

I agree, but on the back of the card it says value $10.99 or something like that. I have a flawless Ebay rating which I don't want to compromise, and this joker said it was the deciding factor in purchasing my game.

bad thing is you stated that the game included the 2 month free rental that really sucks ... I would say either blow it off or say how do you know they card wasnt used and they are lying.. If i gave them back any cash i wouldnt give more then 5 bucks

Those 2 month cards do expire, but you can call Microsoft and they'll give you another 2 month code, you just have to read them the expired code. Just tell the buyer to call MS.

Or if he wants to really bitch about it, have him give you the code, you call MS and get another one, and give that to him. But you shouldn't have to do that.
