Just wanted to say that I finally got a job working at a seafood restaurant. There's a Best Buy, a Circuit City, and an EB Games within walking distance and on the way home. This is heaven. I now make money and there's no doubt I won't be able to hold on to my tips for the drive home. :D Anyone else have a premo job like me? Sorry, but I had to brag, I'm just a little excited.

Hope the job works out for you, and don't spend too much tip money on games

I actually start my new job on Monday. I had quit my old job in early November because I was unhappy with my boss. I am an account executive at an ABC television station and the perks are great. Besides great pay, we have a luxury suite at the stadium in town so I get to take clients to watch basketball and hockey with all expenses paid.

Out of curiosity, what hockey team are you referring to? Unless one is slipping my mind, I can't think of any NHL franchises in Wisconsin...

You are correct, there are no NHL teams. It's the University of Wisconsin hockey games I get to see. They are a lot of fun to watch at the Kohl Center.

My old roommate worked at a Seafood Restaurant. She said she made more money there than she did as an elementary school teacher! She also said that people with clean hair gave better tips so you might want to look for those people. :)

I am a DA... "Dining Assistant", a.k.a. a busser/food runner/host. I'm only 16 so I still have two more years until I can serve, nut I still make decent tips.

It is a bump, people post bumps to make their topic go to the beginning of the topic list or the "Latest Message Board Post" list. They use it when they have nothing to say, they just want people to see it and post a reply to it. Obviously it worked.

I was a bus boy for 7 years.... Hard work, but damn I was making over $250 cash working 2 to 3 nights just on weekends alone, those were the good times, I saved up over 10 grand (and bought over 6k worth of video games) over that period, and gave it all to my university! :D

Thats crazy. Bus boys/girls at where I work make about 5 or 6 an hour after tips. The waitresses usually only give them $1 or $2 as a tip, when everyone knows they can make anywhere from $100 to $500 in a night. Illeagal, but no one does anything.

Damn... that should be recognized immediately. I make a good $6.00/hr plus about $30-$50 in tips. I'm happy. :D

Work at a GameStop. It's not a bad job, but working in one of these game stores is not as great as people make it out to be. I can think of worse jobs though. The problem is the goddamned corporate bullshit. I like corporations, but only when I'm on the end that's not getting screwed ie the executive end. These giant companies have lost touch with what gamers and customers want, that's for damned sure.

I got an on-campus job this semester working in my college's disability resources office. I basically do secretary work and run errands for my bosses. I've also been applying to local videogame stores but so far haven't got a job from them.

I started work last night training. I made $8/hr for training plus a free meal at the end of the night. I wasn't supposed to get a share of the tips while training, but the busser training me gave me $15 anyways. Turns out that bussing is more work than I thought, but it's still a great job. And I'm also a food runner. Runners make 35% tips and bussers make 5%. so I make 40%, split between me and the other busser/runner working with me. I can't wait to see what my first paycheck will be... :D
