Prisoner of Azkaban was a great movie, but the Goblet of Fire can be so much better.

I'm hoping they will split the movie up into two parts like Kill Bill because there is just so much story that would get cut for a three-hour movie.

i didnt like POA much :(..the book was freakin awesome!! but the movie felt so crammed :-\...and it didnt end right either, left out alot of important things and the tone for some part was completely different from that of what i felt when reading it..o well...and if they make a movie of goblet of fire..ur right, its a great idea to split it up :)..so much good stuff...well..so far, im like 1/4 into it :-p..senior year of hs took alot of time, and now im a week away from finishing my 1st semester of college...COLLEGE!!! so..ill prolly get to it

They really do need to split all the remaining movies into two parts, since she just makes them longer and longer. If they try to fit GoF into even 3.5 hours of movie at lot of things are going to get cut.

When the hell is Book 6 coming out anyway?

I loved the POA movie, I liked that the director took a bit of a chance and changed some shit. The book was better, obviously, but it was still well done.

More bookstore confirmations on HBP release rumor
Two more bookstore employees have informed us that they, too, received a corporate memo warning to expect a release date for book 6 to be announced in January 2005. Here it is:

What gets booksellers almost as excited as the holiday season?

HARRY POTTER!

The book world is abuzz with rumors that J.K. Rowling may announce the publication date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince soon. Our children's buyer tells us that we can expect an announcement sometime in January.

Well, that's all we know so far. We want to be ready, so we can start communicating with our customers as soon as the announcement occurs!
You will be receiving an endcap sign that encourages customers to sign up for an e-mail alert at www.waldenbooksstores.com/hp6 [NOTE: B&N and Amazon both have alerts like this on their sites, too]
Customers can also use this site to sign up for our other e-mail newsletters so this is a great way to boost the number of customers we reach via e-mail.

There have been memos that have gone out to book chains on 2 continents now that say to expect a January release. It's not direct from Rowling herself, but it's interesting none the less.

edit: beaten to it, I see. You have to consider that it will take a while to get as many copies printed for release as will be needed though. If they're aiming for January it seems like it should go to the printers any day now.

You misunderstand: its not going to be OUT in January - they're simply going to announce when it'll be out in January. Considering that it hasn't been announced that its 'finished', and still needs to go through editing, I would guess a release date around June (books have a LONG turnaround time. Even considering that they'll rush HP6 as much as they can, I still expect it to be a good 6 months.)

The movie just keep getting worse, not through any fault of their own. It's just that the books keep getting longer and longer, and the movies don't. So they have to cut more and more out, until you're left with just the basics of the plot and none of the extra stuff that makes the story and the characters really come alive.

I shudder to think what will happen with the 4th movie. (But I'll go see it anyway).

I really enjoyed the 3rd Harry Potter film. I thought it was the best so far in the movie series even though they cut out quite a bit of material from the final film. This goes without saying that the third book is my favorite of the series so far.

I would love to see that they don't hurt the next movie even more then this one (this one had some stuff but it was still bearable). I'm hoping that they either serialize the next film, or that they will try to go the LOTR route on the next books in the series and try to fit quite a bit of the books in the movies and then come out with some type of special edition with the extra/deleted scenes.

Prisoner was the best movie of the three. It didn't slavishly follow the books like the first two and try to cram every detail in.

Visually its a much better vision of Hogwarts and the characters seemed to have more depth. I understand why fans of the book would like the first two better, but this was a better movie, IMO.
