Anybody know of a good price for a screen for a projector? I mean the kind of white screen that you could mount on a wall so you could project a picture on it. Looking for one probably greater than 80 inches and decent quality. Anyone gotten one of these before or looked for one? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What kind of projector are you using? I have an infocus x1 dlp projector, we use it for our home theater with dvds though component. No windows in the room so light isnt an issue. I went and bought a high mil count sheet and streetched it and it looks great and only cost 7 dollar. I think when i was pricing the screens the best thing above a sheet with a good gain was in the 300 price range. I don't remember the site off my head, but if you are further interested let me know and I can look it up for you.

I'm not sure what type of projector because it is possibly for my dad's birthday as he just got a projector and doesn't have a screen. I don't know what "high mil count sheet" means, but by all means any more info would be great. Thanks. :)

Hi mil, is the threads to the sheet, the one i have doesnt let light pass through it, is this projector for movies? or more of a work projector? If its for maybe home videos or work you can just get one of those pull down screens off ebay and it would suit your purpose. The sheet I have on the wall is attached since we have a dedicated room to it.

For home theater use, so probably mostly for movies and such. A pull down thing would probably be better than one that doesn't store anywhere.

I have a Da-Lite Pulldown Model B Matte White. It was $80. I also have a hi-power Da-Lite. It was $225. I like the Matte White better. I got the pulldown instead of permwall because I could not convince myself it would be much difference in picture quality for the same screen material on a different frame. The permwalls usually run $500+. Good sources for screens:

cousins video
ritzav
avsforum (they take orders, just call)
corada screens (if you don't want pulldown, these guys rock! And the cheapest)
projector people

Enjoy the big screen gaming and movies! I know I do :)

Thanks for the info! Won't be gaming on it, though; it's for my father! :/

I made a 92" screen for my Infocus ScreenPlay 4805 for about $80. It took a total of about 3 hours to make and looks awesome. People cannot believe that it is home made until I tell them. Here is a link to the directions to build one even with little or no experience working with wood... Also, all the materials needed can be found at a hardware store and fabric store...
