There's no way to buy more than one game in an order?
not that i've seen, but check your order history and it'll show multiple purchases for the same day
Mega Man Anniversary Collection is only $10!!!!
MGS: Twin Snakes is only $15!!!
I was charged S&H as well. (And it showed free shipping before I submitted the order...)
What a crock. I would probably have ordered 3-4 more games, but now I'll wait until they respond to my request to refund the S&H I was charged. (Which probably won't be until Monday I assume.) Oh well. Actually I may pick up a few more that I'd be willing to pay the cost + shipping for anyway if they are asshats about it.
Is it not charging S&H to gamefly members or something? That would be fine if it didn't show me free shipping on the confirmation page, but the switch to a $2 charge after it hits my card. Shady.
UPDATE: Placed a 2nd order and this time it did not charge me shipping. I think if you have an account for ordering online (whether or not you are a member) and can do the one click submit order thing you are not charged. But if you go through the whole process to create a new account before ordering your first thing there is a glitch where it does charge you S&H. So my advice would be to create an account and login before ordering your first game if possible.
Okay so I ended up picking up (all Xbox):
Sudeki - $8 (but was charged S&H...)
Full Spectrum Warrior - $10
Bond: EoN - $10
Manhunt - $8
Merry Xmas to me!
And I'm thinking about nabbing Hitman: Contracts, Galleon, LotR: Return of the King for 10, 10, 13 respectively. Nice sale.
Riddick and The Suffering are also $10 each. If I didn't already own them I'd have picked them up.

Yes they do.
They only ship the manual and case when you buy the game, so they should be mint.

Yah they're in mint condition since they don't send out the case nor the manual to ppl renting these games. So they store them in their warehouse until someone buys the games.
Thanks for the deal, I just got PSOIII for GC for $15.

Thanks for the deal! Just got in on Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. 31 and some change for that game is AWESOME! Just to make sure I understand GameFly's system correctly, can I cancel my trial subscription at any time before the game arrives? I don't care to rent games from them, I just wanted to get in on this deal because Nocturne for that cheap is just too hard to pass up.

Send them an e-mail about it. I expect they'll be crediting everyone this happens to, but I guess I don't know for sure. You probably won't be charged S&H after that first order. Wierd glitch with their site I guess.
I wouldn't be surprised if they send a follow up e-mail offering a month or two for free as an apology. Very bad glitch for them as this seems to only happen for first orders and if I hadn't heard from many on here in the past that gamefly is reputable I would have immediately noted to never shop with them again after this. (Quoting one amount and then charging a different amount to your CC is about the shadiest/screwiest thing an etailer can do.)

Sudeki

Full Spectrum Warrior
I came close on Ghosthunter and Silent Hill 4, but my cheap sense tells me there will be better deals on those two soon enough. ;)

i added full spectrum warrior...for james bond :EoN on gamerankings it lists the xbox version as the worst score..anyone know which paltform is the best for this game? thanks
PS2 has online and better controls, XBOX has better graphics, sound, and load times (but not by much).
I have it for XBOX, but I use a PS2 controller adaptor to play.
EDIT: I have no idea why the GC version would get better reviews than the XBOX version though.

You don't get $5 off these sale items if a member, its more like $2 off.
You can have an account for purchases on Gamefly without being a member, quite easily. Just don't sign up to be a "member". Just give your info on checkout and don't check any free trial boxes.
Debating FSW, I already ordered Sudeki and GGX2#reload today.

I recommend Manhunt.. I love that game.. if you have the headset, the enemies can hear you via it.. and the director talks in your ear.. and EoN, if you don't have it. EoN, FSW and Red Dead for $10 each is a STEAL.. Manuhnt for $8 is just insane. I can definately see myself ordering from these guys constantly, especially if all games are the quality of the Mafia and Suffering I received today.

Ok,
This question was partially answered above, but can someone please just come out with what the $5-off deal is? I have seen it referenced several times in this thread and on the main site, but no full explanation. Would someone mind explaining?
Thanks.

I think I know what this $5 off talk is about.
If you pre-pay your rental membership, you can save a few bucks on your membership fees.
For example, I pre-paid the first two months of my rental plan and I saved $10 off my membership fees.
This has nothing to do with buying used games.

All GBA games is expensive... i can get NEW game the same price at USED game at local store.
ONLY Xbox & PS2 have great deal on USED games. Also, Driver 3 is $10 = you can trade-in at GR for $35 credit . :)

How the hell do you guys get free shipping? I see a big ass banner on their site saying free shipping so I took the plunge on Riddick, I love how you can't see your order total until AFTER you submit it. I assumed I'd get free shipping, well guess again they charged me for shipping, this is crap.
EDIT: What a crappy system they have for first time buyers. I tried to order something else just to see what they'd charge, I added Driver 3 to my cart and instead of having to do the whole sign up thing like I had to do to order Riddick I just clicked log in and they showed my order total WITH free shipping before I hit submit.
I guess the moral of the story is you should sign up FIRST before you try and order anything, now I gotta deal with their customer service to get my damn shipping money back from Riddick.

not to be rude or anything, but just give them a call on monday or email them and tell them. they won't be shipping out until monday at the earliest and thats if you can get through to their CS reps on Monday, with all the people who have not gotten free shipping.

First, have an account made with Gamefly already. Not a subscription if you don't already have one. I don't subscribe but I have an account for their website. Make your accounts for buying BEFORE you attempt to add things to your cart or checkout. Very important. You can make an account for buying without subscribing.
After you hit buy this game, it asks you to login. After that, it shows you this.
http://home.comcast.net/~dafoomie/confirm.jpg
It shows your complete total and tells you that you will be charged if you hit that button.
Again, make your accounts for buying BEFORE you attempt to add things to your cart or checkout. Very important.
Also, you do get a small discount on buying the used games if your a subscriber, seems to be about $2, maybe more on higher priced games. But you won't get $5 off a $10 game.

You could also send them an e-mail regarding the issue. I think they'll likely refund anyone that contacts them without a hassle, but even it they don't, shipping was only $1.99. I hope to get the money refunded, but I won't lose sleep if it isn't (then again I only ordered one game).

Manhunt and Psi-Ops. Manhunt especially if you have a headset.. it's freaky.
Suffering is cool too. Sudeki's merely mediocre and I didn't like RDR too much, but couldn't pass for this deal.

If your time is really worth so little that for two dollars you will hassle with customer service reps, you need to get outside.

Well for me if something is suppose to be free and I get charged for it. I have a problem with that. It'd be different if it was 25 cents or something but that $2 can go to shipping on something else. Why spend money if you don't have to? I'm sure that's a reason why everyone joined CAG.

Already posted this in the Outpost.com/Gamefly thread, but I guess I'll post here asking as well.
A question on used X-Box games, since I'm gonna probably pick up an X-Box in a few days.
If you get a used X-Box game, is there any worry of it being pirated? I mean, could somebody have bought Halo 2, played online, got banned for whatever reason and then passed it on? I guess what I'm asking, is do they use CD-key like things on PC.
I've heard that X-Box Live bannings ban by console and not by game, but I wasn't 100% sure and wanted to verify that. All the same, I think I might pick up Halo 2 special edition for $55 brand new anyway. Probably the only game I'll buy new, but it's Halo 2 and the main reason I'm buying an X-Box. :P
So any reason to be worried about playing a used game on Live?

No, they don't do anything like that. You can't identify one disc from another. The concern is when buying a used Xbox console, not a game. They don't do product keys like Windows.

Ah, great. I'll probably be sending quite a bit of business Gamefly's way then. :D
Speaking of which, anyone know if these really cheap games ($8 Manhunt, $10 Riddick/Psi-Ops) ARE just a temporary deal, or if they'll have them that cheap until they run out of stock?
I'm gonna be pressed for money after coughing up for an X-Box and Halo 2, so I might wait a bit before ordering more from here.

Picked up a bunch of Xbox stuff - Manhunt, Red dead revolver, Full Spectrum Warrior, Riddick, and Psi-Ops. I registered and accepted the free trial offer before ordering anything, and got free shipping on all 5. Kind of dumb that you have to order each game individually...wonder if they will arrive in 5 separate envelopes?!

Crap I just got charged shipping and I did exactly what everyone here said to do. Looks like a scam to me on Gamefly's part. I better get my $2 back or they will never heard the end from me!
Lets just say I am angry and I won't be placing my second order.

CamWhoring time. Again. Here are two games I received from Gamefly this morning.. I realize that most scratches wouldn't show up under a camera.. but nevertheless, to those who doubt.. hehe the second picture makes my hand look fat and small.
The Suffering:

Mafia:

Holy crap! How did I miss this thread? Great prices on games, better than EB even with the codes.
Ended up getting Sudeki and Suffering for around $20 shipped. Hell of a deal, especially considering I almost paid $17 for Suffering from EB a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks OP. The only problem I have now is figuring out which games to play as I have too many I still need to finish. :(
I don't see how people are having trouble getting free shipping - it gave me the free shipping option as soon as I signed in. But then, I've had an account with Gamefly for a year now. I used to rent from them - great service. And their used games come perfect, almost always looking new.

would it be too late to cancel an order...i ordered espn baseball and mvp 2004..i decide i dont want 2 baseball games..instead of espn and get something else like psi ops or red dead revolver...these prices are very good though... got 6 games so far:bond EoN, mvp 2004, espn baseball, manhunt, riddick, and full spectrum warrior ...all w/ free shipping...all for under $60..good value..any other good games i should look into getting? thanks
Damn, this IS a really good deal...I'm having trouble keeping myself from taking advantage of it. Must...resist...buying more games I'll probably never play...
Oh, and Breakdown is a great game for the price. It has it's quirks (make sure you play it on Easy the first time), but overall it's a very interesting and unique game. Still has the best storytelling I've ever seen in a game (captures that whole " seeing through the character's eyes" thing really well). I'm ALMOST considering picking up another copy for a friend...but I'm resisting temptation to spend all my money so soon after I got it ;)

No, you don't get the discount during your free trial, I believe.
You can pre-pay one or two months though, and get the discount and save additional money on the membership fees.

The place to sign up is when you click Buy It on any game at the bottom of the screen you click on the Next Button they let you sign up under Buyer Only so that you won't have to pay the subscriber fee or have to sign up for the free trail unless you just want to.

There is no way that I know of to sign up without purchasing a game. But it is still a good deal because they just charge you shipping & handling for the completion of your first order for being a new member. Then, anything else that you order during the free shipping period is shipped without the charge. If you spread that one shipping charge over alot of games you are spending just spending a couple of extra cents to have this sweet deal.
For example: I bought Manhunt and Mafia which were each 7.99. I bought Mafia first which with tax and shipping cost me all of $10.46. Then, I ordered Manhunt with tax cost all of $8.47. If you spread the shipping on to the two games I bought that is roughly a dollar a game you can't beat that.

i don't know why everybody has a problem with the FREE shipping. i didn't have an account with gamefly before i purchased my first order, but i followed the directions that were given on this forum and i wasn't charged shipping. here is what i did:
signed up for a free trial (will cancel as soon as i get the shipping confirmation)
placed an order for the games
it's as simple as that. if anybody is worried about the difficulty of cancelling the subscription, all you have to do is go to "my account" and mark the "cancel subscription" part. i hope that nobody else has problems with their order. g'luck!

Ok, since this is not being explained by anyone, how do you only sign up as a member? I click on the button that says "sign up for a 10 day trial" because there are no other buttons anywhere asking me to sign up as a member. When I go into these, it gives me the option to ONLY pick a 10 day free trial or a pre-paid account. There is no other way.
Since a lot of people are asking this same question, and an equal number of people are scoffing about how "I can't see how you don't get it," can someone PLEASE TELL ME step by step what I need to do? Otherwise I see NO WAY to become a member without signing up for a trial.
Of course, if I have to do that, log out, log back in, order games, and then cancel it, then I'll do that.
But if there's another way, please tell me.
Thanks guys,
Strell

To sign up without having to register for the 10-Day Free Trail all you have to do is pick any game that you would like to purchase then press the Buy It Button.
Then, there will be a little button to click on that says Next. Be careful do not click on the box that says to sign up for the free trail before you hit Next.
Finally, you will be prompted to input your information to create an account that will only be used for you to be able to buy games with instead of having to sign up for the rental service and they will keep your information on file to service you quickier for any other purchases you might make with GameFly.
I'm pretty surprised that nothing seems to have sold out. (At least nothing I noticed out of the cheap Xbox games.)
I figured some of these would sell out fairly quickly (like Full Spectrum Warrior) Hopefully this isn't a glitch and we won't be getting cancellation e-mails on Monday. (I'm just full of optimism for the holidays ;) )

Gamefly is a huge company with thousands of subscribers so they always have a ton of copies of popular games. It works the same way buying used at Blockbuster does. They only sell stuff cheap if they have a ton of it and nobody is renting it. That's why you can find copies of DVDs of the Hulk at Blockbuster for $2.99 used, and that's why you can get Sudeki for $8 at Gamefly. They have a bunch of them (which would make sense as Sudeki was pretty highly anticipated at one point) and now nobody is renting them.
If you notice, some of their games are too expensive (Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2 for $29.99 used? Ouch) because they probably only have a few copies of those for sale. The more expensive games would probably sell out faster than the cheap ones.

Yeah, sales tax. It should be free shipping. You'll see a total before you submit, and it'll probably say FREE next to it.
You know, you have a lot of questions.. lol I seriously doubt you get a discount with a trial membership.. with a real one, you get like five dollars off or something. I doubt you can sign for a "free" membership and not ask for games and then cancel.. pretty sure you have to be an active member for a month or two to get an extra discount.

The $5 dollars you are referring to would be off of your monthly fees if you were to pay for your fees in advance. The discount on games by being a rental subscriber would only be about $1 to $3 on average.

Depends. Showdown is a decent wrestling game featuring older games, I like it, but it's not for everyone. Full Spectrum is good, if you like that type of genre.. and Suffering, from what i've played, is delightfully fucked up. I opened a door and saw a friendly guy there and you could hear voices whispering both "let him live, he could help" and "kill him.. kill him!".. it's awesome!

Totally. It seems like it's a decent game that just had too much hype and really wasn't worth 50$, but I loved Driver 1 and figure there is no way I won't be able to get 10$ worth of enjoyment out of Driv3r.

I was going to get both games for XBox, or any other titles you guys may want to recommend. Its just outstanding that I picked up two games,: Breakdown especially, for below 20 bones. I still have a check to deposit from Christmas bonus, so a few more sub-10 or barely 10 titles can't do anything..
but expand my Xbox library and keep me happy :). Thanks again to the OP and all of those who have helped CAG newbies like myself get the most for their money.

There is one psychological advantage to making each order separate, you don't realize how much you've spent until you add it up 3 days later when your checking to see if anything has shipped :P

Van Helsing's actually pretty good. It's like a cheap man's version of Devil May Cry, which is good, since DMC is likely to never come on the XBox.

Err let me re-phrase, I was wondering why everyone was picking it up from gamefly instead of ebgames.com (where it is $9.99 new) when I believed the used price for all systems was $12.99. Brain no-functionany good at 3:00 AM.
Got an e-mail from them apologizing for the S&H errror and indicating my account would be credited the $2. (I see that's already been covered on the thread, but thought I would mention it anyway.)
Sent me an e-mail late yesterday evening. Pretty quick service considering they probably didn't have anyone working before yesterday.
Good to read they are apparently doing it whether or not you e-mail them on it. (Though I don't see why anyone wouldn't have immediately e-mailed them after being charged an extra $2.)

Yep, that's right. Not sure you'll get an e-mail unless you e-mailed them about it yourself.

The Suffering and Riddick are both worth $10 if you haven't played them. Breakdown is also a pretty neat game and ultra cheap ($8). I picked up both Sudeki and RDR, but since I haven't played them can't really give an opinion other than saying I thought they were worth it. I believe Everything or Nothing and Full Spectrum Warrior also got fairly good reviews.

I finished Read Dead Revlolver (PS2 version).
Its a fun and stylish game, but its pretty short. $10 is a good price for it, especially since you can likely unload it for more than you paid for it after you are finished.

Those are the ones that are pretty high on my list anyway, there's definatly a bunch of other good ones to choose from though. Oh, and does anyone else think they make it WAY too damn easy to buy games once you're signed in? I mean seriously, there should be a law against being able to buy things with 2 button clicks total...it just makes things so tempting...
Edit: and to the person who brought up that none of the high-profile games/most ordered games have been taken off the site, I just noticed they DID remove Otogi 2 from their used game listing, so it definatly looks like they're removing games when they run out of them. It just seems that they had a whole crapload of the high-profile ones, which is probably whey they're so cheap (I mean really...$40 for Crash Twinsanity? They must've bought one copy of that game)

How long will it take to get my games?
Games ship from Los Angeles, CA. Shipping time averages 2-4 days anywhere in the US, but it can vary from customer to customer as well as from shipment to shipment, depending on your postal route, delivery location, local post office, the volume of mail, the weather, holidays, etc. We are continually working with the Post Office in an effort to improve shipping times.
So, I'm guessing it's USPS. Also, they say your game will be there within 5 business days.

Well, it says they base their pricing based on their inventory...so I'm guessing this sale is going to run them pretty dry, resulting in more prices. However, it seems like they do offer game pretty damn cheap there. Definitely going to be ordering from there in the future. The free shipping lasts through the 9th of January, I think I read.
