I am really interested in picking up a platformer for the xbox. What do you guys think is the best one out there? Thanks in advance.

Metal Slug 3 is good.

The Blinx series are decent, but not great. Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is an enjoyable experience that you can pick up for $14.99 - $9.99 at some clearance prices or with GGC at Bestbuy.

There aren't really many straight platformers for the Xbox. If you're open to other elements being mixed in you'd do well to check out Beyond Good & Evil, Metal Arms: Glitch in the System or Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. They've all got some platformy bits mixed in with action/adventure, shooter, action/adventure, respectively. And they're all cheap.

hrm i wouldnt consider beyond good and evil a platformer. it's a good game tho. its kind of like one of those 3d zelda games.

a good 3d platformer... I-Ninja is pretty good. it's like a ninja mario 64. There aren't really any 2d platformers on Xbox. There's Blowout if you want to try that. it's pretty cheap right now too if my memory serves me right.

I certainly wouldn't consider BG&E a platformer (It doesn't have a jump button).

I'd say Rayman 3 is the best platformer for XBOX, but PS2 is easily the platformer king.

Rayman 3 is the 2nd best platformer this generation, IMHO. (Rayman 2 for the DC being the 1st)

Well, you know there is a huge lack of good platform games when people are mentioning Metal Slug 3 and a bunch of pseudo-platform/adventure games. I am a little disappointed with that, but hopefully there will be more platforming goodness with Xbox Next.

Thanks for everyones input. I'm glad to hear you guys reccomending Oddworld and Sphinx as I have already ordered them from EBgames.com I will definitely be on the lookout for I-Ninja and Rayman 3 now (anyone have any really cheap places for these?). I'd love to pick up Metal Slug but it is out of my price range right now. BG&E also looks like a good game so if I see that cheap I remember to pick it up. Thanks again guys.

Voodoo Vince! Seriously, it's one of my favorite platformers on any current gen system, it's really fun and quite cheap.

Hmmm, I would recommend Metal Arms, Beyond Good and Evil, and I-Ninja. If you go to Gamestop you can buy 2 get one free for all three. I bought Voodoo Vince but haven't gotten the chance to play it.

I-Ninja is an excellent game, highly recommended. I've also enjoyed what I've played of Vexx so far. And one of my surprise games of the year was Pitfall - I actually enjoyed it enough to finish it, which is saying something.

Rayman 3 was a major disappointment to me, especially after playing the 2nd one. It's cheap enough that it's worth giving it a shot tho, and you may be more receptive of it if you've never played the 2nd.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc is the best platform game on the Xbox...

Well there really aren't too many Platformers on the Xbox. Two that come to mind are Voodoo Vince and Blinx. Vince is fun while Blinx is totally aerage. A lot of the games people have listed are on all three consoles are psuedo platformer games.

I was thinking I-Ninja (multiplatform) immediately then Voodoo Vince (one of the only exclusive platformers for the box) Oddworld is pretty but surprisingly not that fun.

Blinx 1 is less than average.

BG&E is close to be a platformer . . . but not quite.

Metal Arms is a great game (kind of a FPS hybrid)

Metal Arms is about as close to Ratchet & Clank as you can get on the Xbox, I think.

Blinx 2 is only $20 at Wal-Mart, and I've heard its much better than the original.

The first Blinx was ok but challenging. Oddworld and Voodoo Vince arent too shabby.

I picked up a used copy of Rayman 3 along with Arx Fatalis and Panzer Dragoon Orta at my local GameStop to take advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free deal. I have never played Rayman 2 so I hope I'll greatly enjoy this one. Thanks for all your input guys!

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is probably the best Xbox platformer IMO.

Voodoo Vince was an excellent game, and I usually don't like straight platformers

Yeah, I saw that there too, but no one was around to get it out of the glass case, so I decided against it.
