Clan practice schedule:

TUESDAYS: 8:30 P.M. CENTRAL - EVERYONE IN THE CLAN IS WELCOME. WE WILL PLAY LARGE CUSTOM GAMES WITH WHOMEVER SHOWS UP, SPLITTING THE ROOMS UP WHEN THEY GET FULL. STAFF MEMBERS WILL LEAD, AND WE WILL PERIODICALLY HAVE NEWBIE TOURS ON THE SIDE.

WEDNESDAYS: 8:30 P.M. CENTRAL - EVERYONE IN THE CLAN IS WELCOME. WE WILL BREAK INTO GROUPS OF EIGHT OR FOUR AND PLAY MATCHMADE GAMES (TEAM SLAYER AND BTB). EACH GROUP WILL BE LEAD BY A STAFF MEMBER.

THURSDAYS: 9:30 P.M. CENTRAL - THE 'ELITE' CLAN MEMBERS (WHOM LEDHED, ZEWONE AND MYSELF DEEM APPROPRIATE) WILL PLAY CLAN MATCHES. THE REST OF THE CLAN IS ENCOURAGED TO PLAY TOGETHER IN CUSTOM OR MATCHMADE GAMES.

Also Craven Fiend, you should play more matchmaking on your own in team slayer and team skirmish alone before playing matchmaking stuff with the higher ranked people, because you should practice with people at your rank until you get better. See thats what matchmaking does, it helps you improve slowly while learning the maps. See when you start jumping into games with someone with a rank on BTB like zewone at an 11 or so and you dont even know the maps yet, thats not a good idea. So practice multiple things.

Ill be on later at around 4pm PT maybe and of course at practice.

Clan practice is twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday nights at 9:30p.m. central time. Please do your best to make at least one of them.

thats exactly what i've been doing when not playing with other clan members. thats why i am not a level one on everything. but i will be doing that tonight when i get on. i adjusted some of my settings, so that should help too. but yeah, i am still learning the curves, so be gentle with me. (sarcasm). i'll get better in time, shit last night was my 3rd night, so yeah.

What do you guys (CAG clan) think? Maybe in a week or so, we can set up a custom game (hosted by rock) and let everyone destroy us. :wink: It could be fun and it might be good for both clans to face eachother.

In all honesty I have been very tempted, DCR has played like a total of five minor clan matches. I'm loyal to a fault though and figured i would stick it out for a bit longer. Although if you guys give me a no-trade clause and a fifth year on the contract i may rethink the situation :P

Tonite was some sort of karmic balancing after last night's amazing winning streak. Even with our best players together, we couldn't get anything done. I've never seen us lose so many objective games. Betrayals occurred during every game, the worst of which involved me killing Jimmie, Murc, and myself with a rocket. Poor Zewone's connection dropped almost every game. Even when we were inches away from winning, it simply wouldn't happen. Everyone's voice was choppy and unintelligible at points. I'm completely ashamed of my performance tonite. I was so mad, I barely said a word the last game.

God did not want us to win. It's the only explanation. Hubris truly is the foil of man. Tonite taught me that, no matter how many times you win, you have to lose eventually.

Ledhed, if it was any consolation, us playing off the JV side of XBL, we didn't do a whole lot better.

Won a few, lost more than a few, though didn't quite have the mechanism working as a well-oiled machine.

Wasn't working as a Swiss watch, though wasn't as bad as a Swiss car.

Sometimes, you have the game, and other times, the game has you. It does happen.

Learn from it and move on to the next day.

Insted of 8 vs 8, we have like 6 vs 10 or 7 vs 9. Only the smaller team is made up of all the "top teir" players.

Since it seems the best players are the ones who are/will represent CAG in the clan matches lets see how they do when they are down in numbers.

i'm game just for fun once or twice, but i don't think it would help either side practice. we certainly have some good newbs, but the veterans are MUCH more skilled, and i don't know that an ol' fashioned slaughtering would help. but yeah, i'm down for a game or two. and just a note for the staff: when a player accepts a clan invite it automatically makes them a member, so if you see any newbie members please make them peons. thanks.

in other news, i got my first berserker tonight, killing 24 straight fools, mostly from CAG (about half from the clan). i'd of course be much more proud killing some more elite players, but hey, kills are kills. nice playing with some of you other dudes.

it's not just about playing regularly though, it's seeing an improvement in skill and communication. and once a member, always a member i would say. if they never play they'll be out of the clan eventually anyhow. just keep an eye on the new people please, the older ones should be fine how they are.

it was fun playing tonight, but damn i need to not spend some much time on there. i spent 9 hours on the tonight for god knows what reason. i can see my skills, slightly improving. i've killed the best of them, but thats only because they were looking the other way. fun times. i don't know when i'll be on again though, since i'll be busy all weekend and start back to work on sunday night.

Tonite was some sort of karmic balancing after last night's amazing winning streak. Even with our best players together, we couldn't get anything done. I've never seen us lose so many objective games. Betrayals occurred during every game, the worst of which involved me killing Jimmie, Murc, and myself with a rocket. Poor Zewone's connection dropped almost every game. Even when we were inches away from winning, it simply wouldn't happen. Everyone's voice was choppy and unintelligible at points. I'm completely ashamed of my performance tonite. I was so mad, I barely said a word the last game.

God did not want us to win. It's the only explanation. Hubris truly is the foil of man. Tonite taught me that, no matter how many times you win, you have to lose eventually.

I was on the receiving end of 4 of those betrayals alone. :shock: ;)

Tonight was a fun night, even if we didn't do all that well. I had a blast playing for like 6 hours. Great games with rocksolid later on.

Olrox and I jumped on briefly during the beginning of practice, but my cousin was downloading something so we were lagging really bad. That's why we dropped out of the 16-player Slayer match.

So overall, it was a good night for me Halo-wise.

I really think that greendj27 showed some fantastic leadership throughout the night. I would highly recommend him to play with "Mooky's ALL- STAR team" since he did very well in helping others and alerting his teammates when a guy was coming. He did a great job.

I would reccomend that in the next practice you guys have a custom game with everyone and really mix players together between "Mooky's ALL- STAR team" and the "bench players". It didn't seem like the players that weren't with "Mooky's ALL- STAR team" could really improve without the help of players like Ledhed, rocksolidaudio and some others.

Just putting the worst players with other lower players won't do any good. They need the leadership that "Mooky's ALL- STAR team" can give to them.

What murc is talking about is that we now basically assign two team captains (usually staff players if available) and pick a player, back-and-forth. The teams usually turn out amazingly even.

Alright I'll start from where I missed.

sj41 - We play with all of the people of the clan. It doesn't matter if you suck or not. When all of us "regulars" go into our own room its to play some matchmaking because we are all familar with how each other play and we are trying to win.

Big C - It will be fun to kill your ass again. :) Some people have gotten better to where I'm sure more than a handful of people will give you a run for the money.

I'm not going to play against you guys. The Realm clan is gone. Nothing left. jlarlee and Stealthy Seal left, 4 guys that I had brought into the clan apparantly got booted somehow, and I'm one of the few that will probally try to keep The Realm clan going.

I spent about an hour just tooling around before I had anyone from the clan to play with. I popped on, sent a couple of messages asking for in, and after a game's time when I didn't get one, I made my own party and started to tool around the maps, doing recon.

After a bit, I went and sent invites to people. When I didn't get a response, I did more map recon and some vehicle practice.

Eventually, jugsta showed up and we did one-on-one CTF. :rofl: Sort of funny, actually.

After that game, we found a few people and went with that for a couple of hours, until we joined up with the rest of the clan.

If you don't get invites, make your own party and go do something on your own, make it open and have random people show up. Do recon, do vehicle practice, do something.

Whining about it is only your own fault. If I had a buck for every time that happened where I didn't get an invite, I'd be buying a few new Xboxes. Just go and do something.

Toggle down one level to "Change Text Message". Once you select that with A, you should see the "Type Message" window with the on-screen keyboard.

I did this with my communicator unplugged, so I know it works without having the communicator plugged into the controller.

I'm massive at Team Slayer, especially with n00bs, I love carrying them since I end up getting 25-30 kills. We didn't use any team tactics aside from the beginning at coag when we were actually kicking some ass with the Ghosts. But when our vehicles were blown up, our tactics died and we started losing again.

I'd like to challenge you guys again in a few weeks. Give me a few weeks to get two other clan members playing with me and Unity, and I'm certain we can hang with you fellas. I think we could have last night too if we would have used better teamwork. But that's just how things went.

I couldn't agree more. It wouldn't be any more demanding of the engine, in fact it would be less demanding. This feature has been a staple of PC shooters for years; why should we be denied of it? Bungie knew the people that play this game were going to be highly competitive, and the option to spectate should be a given for this crowd. Something else for Halo 3 I suppose (if any of you even whisper of Halo 2.5, I'll punch you right through the internet).

And yes Grave, I would love to have another match-up. You just let us know when your boys are ready to play. :wink:
