View Full Version : Sensitivity in Halo 2

One of my buddies was talking about adjusting the sensitivity of my controls in Halo2. Does this help you turn around quicker and adjust aiming? If that is true, I'm sure it is a little more difficult accurately aim, but I'm sure you adjust over time. Is there a recommended sensitivity setting for effective online play?

AGREE'D. it has helped my game tremendously. I turned it up a little bit at a time so i could get used to it - now i have it on the highest setting and it is great!

its worth trying if it will help improve your game.

I'm sorry I sniped you when you weren't paying attention.. No man, it's OK. I'm the one that should be sorry. I mean, I was talking trash the whole time. No man, *sniff, sniff*, it's cool. I love you man.

its easy ier to yse about any gun with the higher sensitivity except the sniper, so if you're a sniper person, you might have to take a while to get used to it.

Dang, I have had mine set on 3 for years, and i'm not bad (level 10 on TS), I should try gradually raising it to see how much I improve, thanks dudes.

I have mine set to 7 or 8 usually.
Get use to it, it will save ur life alot on live, turning around wise.

I also agree it makes sniping harder, but u must get use to that as well.

no.. Rank can go down.. Lose enuff games or not finish high enough a few times.. and that number will go down..
I used to be a 13 in Big Team battles.. but I played with some random ppls and had alot of games where peeps dropped... (god I hate Droppers.)
and my rank went down to a 10.. Ive got it back up to 12.. but it took awhile. :)

rank schmank, i just have fun...i couldn't even tell you what my overall is, but i think my BTB is 9. i only know that cause that is what i play most of the time...which explains why i suck in slayer games.

I don't know how it is done but you can check how close you are to ranking up or down off the bungie site. Had a guy the other night check it on his pc while we were chatting in the lobby.

When you look at your stats, there is a little bar meter that shows how "full" your level is. Fill the bar graph and you level up.

High sensitivty ruins any kind of precision aiming imo.

Default 3 here. Headshots are easier.

I second that the majority of the time you will see someone coming from a distance so you will need precision over speed.

Mine's at 5. You won't see me frantically looking around trying to aim. Also, try turning it down, and then sniping. WAY easier.

heres all you guys talking about sniping is better at lower levels, and our best sniper, UgamerX, plays at 10. Also I seem to play better as I raise mine. Im at a 6 i think right now

I use 10.

For trouble with mid- to long-range aiming, try moving your legs (left stick) instead of your arms and head(right stick). I get the reticule situated at headshot level and then sidestep to fine tune my targeting. This has the added effect of making you a tougher target to hit. Using this technique with a battle rifle in my hands, I typically get more headshots than those who snipe constantly. If you can constantly get headshots, you can even beat a plasma-smg dual-wielder from surprisingly short distances. Watch out for pistol combos, though.

Also (on higher sensitivities) you shouldn't be trying to make too many subtle thumb movements when moving the right stick. Most of the time, you should be clicking the stick all the way to the side and holding it for however long it takes to reach your target.

Grip is also important. I use my middle fingers for the triggers and my pointer fingers rest on the top of the controller to stabilize it. I find that this puts my thumbs into a better position for precision aiming and moving.

I'm using the original controller, but that is more of a personal preference dependent on hand size.

Good luck.

This is just through my experience. I keep mine around 4 or 5. I think others should try though, because it has helped me.

Its a matter of personal preference. Sure it might improve your skill but you just need to play as comfortably as you can get and some people play just fine on the low sensitivity.

Yes I play at 10, but I'm thinking about lowering it to 8 or 9. I may be a little out of practice, but I seem to be getting too jumpy when aiming and I often move my crosshairs farther than I would like and end up missing my target.

Everyone says they know "the best halo sniper EVAR!" but they don't. I have a couple friends that are ridiculously good at sniping, are they the best? I had a friend who went on a 27 kill streak on Coagulation for CTF, the game said "UNFREAKING-BELIEVABLE" Thats not lie, if you don't believe me, try going on a 25 kill streak you'll hear it. Does it make him the best sniper EVAR? No. Course not. So saying someone is your best sniper doesn't say much. Every little Halo circle has their best sniper.

Have you ever seen a "gaming mousepad"? They are as thin as possible, and are usually oversized so you never have to lift the mouse.
