We've all seen games that look perfect not boot up in our consoles. But every once and a while you'll see a game that is scratched to hell but works flawless.
My most scratched up game that works fine is Power Stone 2. I got it used at Gamestop and didn't look at the condition. But it's never given me problems. It's strange how some scrached up games don't give you problems.

i have no scratched games at all.
my most scratched up game is Halo, that thing has been dropped all over my wood floor plenty of times and it works 100% fine.
My Halo's the worst looking too - a pissed off girl scraped it up and down my appartment wall about 5 times (long story..crazy b***h) - tried to trade it in as EB and they said no - but it keeps on ticking, much to my surprize.

Deus Ex for the ps2, got it preplayed from Eb , open it up thinking to myself no damn way this thing works, looked like someone took it to the sidewalk and just started rubbing. But sure enough booted up fine

Same with me I have absolutely no scratched games in my collection. Well when I bought the Halo2 CE it did have some light brush scratch marks on it but it plays fine.

Don't have many scratched games, but when I bought Legacy of Kain 2 (new), there was like, a scratch going from the hole of the disk to the lable (like 1 mm long), but so deep that it looked like a crack. Works though.

And since there's no data on that area of the disc.. it suprised you it worked?

I was too old by the time CD-based systems came out to have any scratched discs, but just about every PC game I own looks like I took a fork to it.

Well, I had originally thought that it was a crack that went all the way through the disk, and I was worried about it shattering inside of the system. It took a few minutes of gentle bending and close observation to find that it was a scratch.

WTF...where are these pointless threads coming from? I left CAG for a while, and when I got back, the place turned into the GameFAQs PotD board.

I try to keep my games in good shape, so only my used ones are in bad shape. I think the most scratched up game I have is Vigilante 8 Second Offensive for the PSX.

My Sillent Hill 2 Xbox game is really scratched up. I got it from my friend who got it used at GameStop, so it was not in the best condition when I got it. All the games that I bought new are in near mint condition. I am sure if I gave it to GameStop or EB, they would rewrap it and sell it as new.

My friend stepped on his FF5 disc from FF Anthologies, and slid across the wood floor with it. He fell right on his ass, lol! I've never seen a disc so scratched, but it still worked.
Also, kind of off topic, but I remember my Chrono Cross freezing up after this huge boss fight, and when I checked it for scratches (after it freezing like 4 times) it had dried jelly all over the bottom of it. Wonder how that got there.
