Well . . . yeah, I'm talking about trading in cheapies (say TRU free or $3 games) towards a free game . . . not games that you want to keep.

If you don't mind embarassing yourself a little, do this deal:

Winter Sale: $25 trade-in toward Halo 2/NFS 2/GTA SA Active: Now - 1/29/2005
Trade-in 2 qualifying pre-played PS2/XB games and receive $25.00 towards the purchase of NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGRND 2 PS2 or HALO 2 XB or GRAND THEFT AUTO:S ANDREAS PS2.

Trade in 2 games and pay the other $25. Return the game a few days later (still sealed) for your $25 cash back and $25 in credit. Do the deal again, you'll have $50 in credit.

FYI, I can confirm THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS to the extra $10 thing... I traded in Alter Echo, Aquaman, Exhbitition 4, and some other stuff that no one wants successfully.

However, he didn't accept the Exhibition disc until I pointed out that there was one on the shelf... ; )

By trading in cheap TRU games and Exhibition discs and using Cash For Your Stash, I have purchased Alien Hominid (GC) pre-played with $9 worth of stuff and Atari Anniversary (XB) pre-played with $7 worth of stuff! HOO-HAH!

I just got back from EB and have $51.75 in credit after trading 12 "Free" TRU games. I also traded 5 TRU games on New Year's Eve to get Burnout 3 (XBOX) for free. So, after trading in 25 games, I got $100+ at EB and $40+ at Blockbuster.

Fellow CAGs, I just figured something out yesterday. (Follow me here.) If you got the booklet that was given out before Christmas that had the $9.99 Fight Club coupon in it, there was also a coupon for a $10 credit certificate by mail if you trade in 3 GameCube, PS2 or Xbox games or a $20 credit certificate by mail if you trade in 5 GC, PS2 or Xbox games. I'm going to mail in my last trade-in receipt with that coupon and see what happens.

The last two times I tried this type of scam, it worked. Once there was a free $10 credit back from buying Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for Xbox that was selling for $10 at the time (a year ago). The other time was when they were giving a free $20 credit for trading in 5 or more games (and most of mine were POX titles).
