if you're lazy, go here:

and just soak in the post titles

elsewise-

this is not a discussion about the "new" prince, his music, clothes, edge, taste in women or opinions on ea- if you would, please leave those at the door

i received pop2 a week ago from my girlfriend as she was aware i enjoyed the first game (and with good cause). So i fire the sequel up and ease back into a familiar experience of hacking and slashing up those wishing to inflict massive bodily harm on one prince. things progress nicely as i re-acquire the ability to rewind and then slow time. I wander into a large room (the one's that seem all big and confusing, but actually end up having a very linear path) and proceed as usual. But this room is not to be as usual, this room has no exit. I waste a goodly amount of time finding this nonexistent exist until i resign myself to stooping about a walkthrough on the internet(sigh). I grab a walkthrough and follow its instructions on finding the exit to the room- but what madness is this! the walkthrough seems to fail me as i cannot do what it asks.
Perhaps, my own idiocy has set in and i purse another walkthrough, results: the same. During one of these trials where i have reloaded the game, the prince has become some zombie/wraith creature, not to ubisoft, this direction is bold but not classy. I then return to aforementioned internet and come upon of all places a post on ign listing all these wonderful bugs throughout the game. Look! here's one telling me not to save! here's another telling me never to explore or try to go in a direction i should not or backtrack (when the game often expects me to). and there is my own loving bug where i have been turned into a zombie. And what is the solution?
oh, that's right, reload from an earlier save becuase this save has become useless! no earlier save! start over again. Luckily i had an earlier save, so i reload it and try again, and...and... the same bug appears. And the kicker (my own bug is not too far into the game): another more insidious creature waits at the very end preventing players from reaching the final boss. And there are tons of posts about this on ubi's board.

So I ask, where was this in any of the reviews? or those people who have bought this and are playing it- what are your own personal experiences? have you lucked out and beaten this game? has anyone beaten this game?

A guy at work was just having this problem the other day.. he was at the very very last thing you had to do, walk into some time/sand portal thingy and it wouldn't work, he was just stuck. All you had to do was walk into the falling sand, after the chick.. and it couldn't be done..

The wraith thing happened to me once. I just reloaded the game.

Being a zombie sounds cool..

But playing a broken game does not. There's no doubt it was rushed to get out the door. Since it's Live Aware at the very least, hopefully there will be a patch.

Beat it, never had a since problem. But its nice to see a thread that's expressing problems with the game itself not just the prince and change in puzzle system.

I am a sorrowful victim of the end-of-game portal glitch. I tried reloading the game from an earlier save, to no avail. What bugs me the most is that I want to like this game SO much. Annoying bugs like the visually glitchy crowmaster teleport and dynamic music gone horribly wrong are one thing, but this one prevents me from finishing the game.

I might just start over, seeing as I like the gameplay so much. Still, it's just not right.

NOTE: I own the Xbox version of the game.

Wow, this is insane. I can expect some glitches in very big games (to expect a game like Morrowind to run on the Xbox glitch free is asking a bit much). But, this is nuts. This many bugs, the game should be recalled and fixed. But, that doesn't happen with games. This is sad, hopefully UbiSoft does provide a fix.

But, what if they do offer a free patch over Live. I don't have Live now. Is Live going to eventually be a requirement just to get patches to play games?

I think most of the reviews miss this because, reviewable copies of games aren't 100% finished. There are a few things they still fix, so if they hit a glitch, they may have been told that it will be fixed. Also, I've always secretly believed that the major sites get strategy guides with their games. If not, games could potentially be delayed several days if the gamer gets stuck. I think they try something on their own, then hit the guide (though, I have no evidence to support this).

I doubt the gamecube or ps2 versions will be patched over 'live.

Which version were you playing?

I had-have, i still have it-the cube version, though all 3 console versions have demonstrated these bugs (as well as the pc version)

whether 100% of the discs are susceptible to the bug and some luckily have not demonstrated the flaws or a high but not total percentage of discs are flawed and some people will never encounter these issues is unclear.

Damn glad you brought this up, I haven't cracked open my game yet so i'm going to have to do multiple saves when I do get around to it.

Well, my 'to-buy' list just got one game shorter.

It would be nice if Ubi Soft put a patch on the OXM and OPM demo disks, but I don't know what they could do for the Gamecube owners. Perhaps they could put a patch on a future Ubi Soft game.

I have the PS2 version and have had no problems so far, and I'm about 4 hrs in.
