I just recently got one of the clearenced PSone screens at TRU, only to find that it is powered by an AC Adapter. I thought these screens were for when you wanted to bring your PSone on car rides and such? Thanks for any input...

You can buy an adapter that plugs into the cigarrette lighter. No AC needed.

Still have them at the Kmart near me for like $32. I imagine you can do better than that.

Or, there is a battery pack that is sold to get power too.

You have 2 options for poratability... a cigarette lighter adapter, or a battery pack (3rd party) that fits under the PSone.
You can also click the link in my sig and see what you can do with it plugged in at home :)

Beware though, the battery pack seriously degrades portability. It nearly tripled the weight of my combo, but the trade off it 4.5 hours of gaming WITH the screen.

Okay, thanks guys. Also thanks for the link Wshakspear. I might have to try that out. Also, how well do the games come in on the PS2/GC/Xbox with the PSone screen?

Freakin great. The quality beats any other screen out there. Also, when you follow that link you can see screen caps from GC,Xbox, PS2, Saturn. They look quite a bit clearer in real life. Im about halfway through WW because i can play in bed now :)
EDIT: When i say scrren cap i mean Digital camera :) also, my sig is a Saturn game on it

To be honest, no. I paid the $20 to get nice cords and Stero sound...but if you dont mind mono, you can get a similar cord and 2 of the connectors and do it that way. Thats should run you about $7.

I think I may have ot get a spare screen to do that thing, as I want to play games from my NEW Saturn on that.

If you already have one, or have a combo, you can still hook a saturn up. On the combo i believe you just leave the PSone off...or on but with no game...awww helll, it been to long, i just dont know

For the right price it's a great item as is. There are plenty of situations where it isn't possible to plug into a TV but electrical outlets are readily available. Motel rooms for instance. The TVs in those are often old and lacking the right connectors or purposely designed to disallow tenants from connecting equipment of their own.

i ordered both cords from a guy on ebay for a total of $14.20. his username is razern, and it came in superfast. the gold plated 12ft RCA cable would have cost $15.99 alone at radio shack. if you still need one, look for him.

I got lucky and found one at Gamestop that was mismarked as a GBA car adaptor. Snagged it for 99 cents...

The cords are not cheap but they are worth every penny. I think it was $22 for the Camcorder cable and the RCA to RCA plugs. What other high quality screen solution can you get for $40 that works on ALL game systems?
I found this is most useful for hotels. Most hotels now have that in room entertainment system that is part of the TV. There is no way to get your system hooked up to those tvs.

Here's what I've done:
Picked up 2 similar to these for a total of $33.00 :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=79816&item=5746244 138&rd=1
My Pontiac Grand Prix has 2 cigarette lighter accessory ports. One for the screen, and one for the SNES/NES/PS2/N64. I recommend if you choose this route that you buy a greater than 60-watt dc to 110/120 ac inverter.
I'm in the process of mounting the PSone screen in the vehicle in a manner consistent with portability i.e. able to disconnect and take with me when I leave the car. So far I have an idea to make a small box to fit it in but I haven't gotten any further.
I'll post pics of it hooked up in the car if there's enough interest.

My Grand Prix is a 2001. I happened to like that year particularly for this model. It was the year they were equipped with the oil analyzer for the 2.8L SE model.
The interior of this car leaves you many options with where you can mount this PSone LCD as well as where you can put your game console or DVD player. I think an XBOX is a little more difficult to fit in a clean way, due to it's bulkier size as opposed to other consoles. But if you have a SUV no worries!!
