none of those games will be complete and the discs will be in the worst possible condition. just a warning

Not true. EBgames.com is usually decent about the games being complete.

Nuclear Strike
Dino Crisis W/O Demo

I recently got these 2 games from ebgames.com. Nuclear Strike came complete, looked almost brand new. Dino Crisis came without the manual, also in great shape.

From my past experiences, it's about a 50/50 shot.

Also not true. I know people who won't even buy from EB.com because they may not come complete/in good condition.

Seems pretty hit or miss to me, unless I get alot more convincing arguements im gonna avoid it.

I've bought alot of used ps1 games from eb and about 40% of them came complete.

Yeah, it is pretty much hit or miss. I've gotten several GC games from EB.com, all of which had instructions and inserts. The DC games I got from there, on the other hand, came with neither.

Of course, you could always check out gamerecyclery.com. They sell inserts and instruction manuals for games on the current and previous generation systems, so if the games from EB don't come with them, you could try there.

I've bought all these from there online in complete condition:
Oddworld: Abes Oddysee
Dino Crisis W/O Demo
Syphon Filter 2
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

But in my experience, with older games there, it is generally about a 50/50 chance. Probably a few more PS games (and DC games) came complete than disc only.

Its about 30% chance that they'll be complete . . . but the games can be soooo cheap with free shipping that it's worth some risk.

Also, you can just pick them up one a time using a cheap $2-3 PS1 game to get free shipping (SAVER code) on the order of a cheap new game.

EB guarantees case and manual for PS2, Xbox, and GCN games only. Everything else is a toss up. I'd agree with the 30% figure. I often throw in a cheap PSOne game with my orders to save on shipping (as well as have something to show for that $1.50), and I get a lot of the generic cases/no manual.

Like everyone's saying, it's hit-or-miss. I usually only order used from them when I'm also buying something new & want to use SAVER. Figure it's better to invest that money in a chance at a cool cheap game than to give it away for shipping.

Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised - got Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee complete/excellent condition like this. Sometimes it's so-so - got Ring of Red complete, manual & disk in very good shape, but insert torn & faded. Sometimes....meh. Ordered Disruptor, arrived in a plain jewel case w/ one of EB's inserts in it - no manual or official insert, disk in good not great condition.

Does the phrase 'Includes box and instructions' have any relation to the reality of the situation?

I needed to order a few memory cards, so I added a few PSX games as well. I was going to order alot more but since you guys are reporting a 35% completeness rate, I decided only to order a few that I wouldn't mind being disc only. I grabbed:

Loaded - $1.99
The Unholy War - $3.99
Tiny Tank - $1.99

For a total of about $7. When they come I'll report what they came with, if anything.

I recieved 4 PSX games, 2 were complete, 1 just had the instructions, and the other was disc only. I have 3 more coming anyday now and I'll report on those.

Not true. Look at the back of the packing slip, you'll see it says "refund will be given in the form of original payment." Meaning if you order from Ebgames.com and return to the store they'll put it back on your credit card that you ordered with. I've done this twice in the past month, but be warned the guy at my local EB took about 10 minutes to process the return, don't know if he did it to annoy me or he was just an idiot.
So yeah, I've ordered a bunch from EBgames.com in the past, and the couple times I didn't like the look of the disk I just took them back to the store next time I was there, you have 30 days.

I've had pretty bad luck for the most part. Everything usually comes disc only and scratched to heck for me.

Most recently, I've had better luck.

Pandemonium and Wild 9 . . . both came complete and in pretty good shape.

I would never buy used games from eb because you don't really know what you're gonna get from what you paid for. I'm such an ass as I only buy no scratch games with complete stuff that eb is never considered a place for me to look for used games.

All the PSX games I've gotten from EB.com seem to have been resurfaced so they are scratchfree. So far, I would say 40% of my games have come complete.

I got my games today. All were disc only in the EBgames pre-played case. :-( Oh well. I can't be too mad with the price I paid for 'em.
