I've been ordering from Outpost.com for over 5 years now (when they had free overnite shipping). IMO, they are one of the best online retailers.

Because they (GS) are the ones putting it together. What do you mean, "It was a rhetorical question"? :)

The nice thing about the CE being made by GS is that it will be a lot less common than, say, the Halo 2 CE (which can still be found in stores, lol). If you anticipate ever wanting the bonus stuff, get it from GS now, or expect to pay high eBay markups later. If you know that you will never care about the tin, et al, the outpost deal is a great price for a game that is blowing the critics away.

I started ordering from Outpost a few months ago. Every single order I've placed has shipped the day of release. I'd expect RE to definitely ship Wednesday, and I should get it by Friday or Monday at the latest. I've never had a problem with them, even when people post that you get games weeks after release.

The CSR I spoke to yesterday said the computer indicated a 2/11 ship date, but he knew the game was supposed to come out 1/11. He said if I called back Monday, he may have an update on this.

Customer Service always says that the system does not state when it will ship.

I think the rep think the game come out on the Feb 11th instead of Jan 11. Because that is what the computer is showing. So thats probably way they say its back ordered till February. I'm guessing its a little miscommuncation and do you guys think every rep have a clue about the products your calling in about? They probably never heard of the game RE4. They just type it in and tell you the date that the computer have it which is a mistake. So don't act all crazy like those folks in RE4.

I called today and got some new info. Apparently Outpost shipped out the earliest orders this week, but those of us who got in on it late will not have to wait until next month. The CSR I spoke to said that due to the complaints they have had they will be shipping a certain amount of RE4s out next Tuesday(18th), instead of Feb. 11th. Just yesterday they were not shipping the rest until Feb., but apparently things have changed(how?). I'm not sure if this will cover everyone, call for yourself w/ your order number to find out.

Received a backorder notification on 1/10 and haven't heard a peep from them since. :evil:

I hate outpost.

They lure you with their low prices, but a majority of the time they don't have it in stock and fail to tell you that.

They did that to me when I preordered Metal Gear Solid 3 from them. When I found out they would ship it at least a week late, I promptly cancelled my order.

Hnag in there guys. DHL's shipping tracker is crap. It was at my doorstep when on the tracker it said it was still in Ohio. Just go by the est. delivery date, its been accurate 2/2 times (RE:4 and Minish Cap). RE4 was even delivered on MLK's B-day.
