[late night rant]
I finally understand why so many of my friends and aquaintances disappeared for months (sometimes years) on end. I never knew the power an MMORPG could hold over a person's soul. I have, however, seen the light, and his name is DaPhatty, a level 30 Orc Warlock.
Yes, I am addicted to World of Warcraft. :dunce: Who's with me?

I'd like to be.
Maybe one day,... when PC gaming is fun.
Or when it hits the XBox2.
:)
Have fun, phatty.

My cousin has been hyping this game up for awhile now, I finally got a hold of his copy and after about a solid 5 hours of trying to get the damn game installed (tome.mpq errors) I finally got it running, I was actually surprised the thing even ran on my computer. It's only 1.8ghz, 512 ram, and an old Geforce 2 gts card. But it runs quite well.
I messed around with one of his characters for about 2 hours, I really had no idea what was going on, I started randomly clicking offensive abilities whenever I ran into an enemy, I managed to do the Jasperload Mines quest, I did die once though.
This game seems pretty fun so far, although I wish I had a better idea of what was going on, like plot, story, how my character works, what types of stuff he can do.

Yes - I, like you, once used to make fun of MMO addicts. I now find myself up 'till 2:30 in the morning on work nights unable to log-off until I just...*level one more time*

Yep. That about sums it up. Although I find myself heading to the auction house to sell whatever I have in my stash. I made 4g yesterday off of drops from the instanced dungeons.

I avoid these games because I know that I would not be able to handle them. In 20 years I would be begging on the street and cursing everquest under my breath

Back from the dead, eh Daphatty?
It's literally been back and forth between this and Halo 2 since Xmas.
Gabe: "Now SAY IT!"
Tycho, holding a copy of DAoC: "... I'm weak."

Thought we hadn't seen you in a while. I know how it is, I was addicted to DAOC twice for about 3 months each time, but then I had more time. I really want to play WOW, and will as soon as I upgrade my comp, but I won't have the time I used to have. I have heard WOW is more casual friendly which is good.

The neat thing about WoW, is it can pretty much be a single player game. It's like playing PSO offline, but actually entertaining

Same. I don't even have enough time to play my PS2 games, let alone get sucked into one of these,

I was wondering where you went. The server name is Llane and it's the best kept secret in WoW. Best. Server. Ever.

I might have to start a character on that server then :) I like the surroundings and what not when being human, id just rather start over. Might as well do it on a fresh server :)

I wqn't ever let my self play a MMORPG. If I do, I am sure that I will never do any school work again.

I used to like PSO V1 on the dreamcast. I liked playing it since it was free. I wish there was another game like that. But I just don't have the time to invest to get my money's worth. I still haven't even had a chance to install my AO download.
