I only played a few hours of the first SC game, but it was on the PS2.
I have played the first few missions of SC: PT on Xbox (thanks to GameFly's sale) and I have to say, I was blown away by the graphics and atmosphere.
It also seems the game is a bit more forgiving than the previous one.
I can't wait to give it a try online, although I hear its very hard.

If you'd ever like to play online, let me or Arikado know. We played this to death back in the good ol' pre-Halo 2 days, and I for one would love to give you a crash course in the game.

Still way too much trial and error. I'm hoping part 3 is a bit better....

Yeah, I got REALLY fed up with the Single Player game. I kept getting spotted TOO easily in the latter parts of the game. Also, online was a bunch of asshats....and to think I paid FULL price for this. Glad I sold it and made my money back at the time.

I hated it, especially the random landmines and stuff. It's all "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO USE YER THERMAL VISION !!!1!111".. bastards. I agree with the statement '[still] too much trial and error'.

The online portion of the game is not really difficult, but there are campers on maps that can cause a problem because if you die once you always start in the same spot (MERCS).
I have not yet played the single player but I heard very good things about it. I did finish and enjoy the first game and its download levels very much. I think the trial and error just depends on how much you enjoy playing stealth games. If you enjoy them it will not bother you.

Ah, I'm only on the Jerusalem level.
I've already gotten $10 worth of enjoyment out of it. ;)

CheapyD what current generation systems do you have? A Xbox and a PS2 only right?

I likes PT single player MUCH more than the original, there were parts of that which drove me mad, such as the scene in the elevator going down to the library, that took some luck... and patience... Pandora was fun, as soon as I figured out the section with the landmines, it became easier... although I still have a tendency to not be careful enough
Was worth the 15 bucks I shelled out for it

We should get a group together and play this during the weekend. I've started a few threads trying to get people to play before.
Honestly, I think I'd rather play this than Halo 2 if I could remember how to not be terrible at it. :)

I passed on this one at $13 (I think that's what it was at when I saw it) as I don't have Live and heard the single player mode is very short. Would have pulled the trigger at $10, though. Was it $10 at some point? I missed that :(
I loved the original. You actually have to think about what you want to do and can accomplish the goals in different ways.

Pandora really is incredible online if you can get a good group of people together. We must get some games of this going over teh next few days, it seems to be coming back now that the initial joys of Halo has subsided. Seems we must prepare for Chaos Theory...

just wait until you get to the level where its raining, and when lightning strikes the enemies can see you for a split second, LAX airport is also another very cool mission.
Was Pandora Tomorrow developed by the same team that did the first SC or is it like a Prince of Pesia WW type of thing?

Picked it up (xb) as well from the gamefly sale...went through a short training and liked the new item arangment.
But...I have yet to finish the first one yet, so it'll have to wait....

The online portion of the game... is what I earnestly found to be difficult. There is a large learning curve, and if you play others that are far above your rank... they will simply own you. Once I figured out I should play others at my level of game play and started to figure it all out... the game became immensely enjoyable.
So, with that said... if you dont mind playing someone who sucks at the game... drop me an invite!

The first SC and POP was developed by Ubisoft MONTREAL the second ones was created by a Ubisoft team in Bagcock I think. The good news for gamer is that Cell Theory is being done by the famous Montreal team. From what I have heard the Montreal team started this game as soon as the first SC was finished!

CheapyD, I'm in exactly the same boat. I bought it through the GameFly sale and have been playing it the past few nights. It's amazing! I'm totally clueless on the maps, but I'm not TOO terrible. :)
Add me to your friends list to game with a fellow n00b sometime. My GT is in my sig.
