After 20 years, Dave Mustaine calls it quits after bringing Megadeth back from the dead and recording a kickass album that recalls their glorious early years:

Never was a big fan of Megadeth. Only liked a few songs.

I wouldn't say a few songs but they really weren't up there in terms of metal bands that I liked. They had probably 4 maybe 5 songs I liked but I could never really dig them for some reason.

I think Dave Mustaines best work was in Metallica. The only Megadeth song I like is Symphony of Destruction.

Megadeth kicks ass, so this is kinda sad to hear. I hope they're coming to Portland on their final tour (or at least close by). I've never seen Megadeth live and I don't want to miss out on that for good.
Here's something I read on theprp.com:

Megadeth are plotting both a "greatest hits" CD and a "DVD from hell" for release next year. Details are currently being firmed up.

I just started in getting into Megadeth a month ago. They BETTER come to Philly. I gotta see them before they're done.

I really like Megadeth. Great band, great songs. I haven't really heard any of their stuff since Youthinasia though.
Their early stuff is pretty good, but Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, and Youthinasia are my favorites.

Youthanasia was a fantastic album. I enjoyed songs from other albums, but Youthanasia was an album I could listen to from beginning to end.

Peace Sells is a great song. That is one of the most hatefull songs ever written

Megadeth is ok, except for "Sweating Bullets" which has the most lame voice-over thing I've ever heard. "Hey me, it's the real me"

Their current tour is in smaller clubs, should be great compared to the last time I saw them, doing the Clash of Titans tour in stadiums.

Too bad none of my friends here in Dallas like Megadeth. Wonder if my wife would go with me? She really likes Addicted to Chaos :)

I'd have to agree with some of the other posters here....I got into Megadeth in the mid 80's when I caught Peace Sells on MTV. I picked up Peace Sells, then So Far, So Good...and then finally Rust in Peace, and out of all of them, I'd say I listened to 2 or 3 tracks off each disc. I found the rest to be just too....I dunno.....crappy, to get into :)
As opposed to, say Master Of Puppets, which I can play front to back day in, and day out. Megadeth in the 90's became a "radio singles" band......the stuff that made the radio wasn't bad, but it wasn't really metal either.
I just can't say I ever heard a Megadeth album that I could play front to back and find something to like in each song.....including the most recent one.
I'd say my tastes have changed, but I could make the same statement back in 88......Slayer? Many whole albums....Motorhead? Same thing......Anthrax? Every song (with a few exceptions)..but MEgadeth it was always "pop the tape in the player and play song 1, 2, and 7" or something ;)

Sweatin' Bullets
Symphony of Destruction
...yeah, that about does it for the Megadeth songs I know. To their credit, they never put out a "Load" like album like some other former heavy-metal heroes.

I like Load. Not as good as their earlier stuff, but still a good album.
Now St. Anger - it sucks. Probably could have been ok, but the production was HORRIBLE. Could they have ruined the drums more?
