Just was wondering what you all do to clean up your game discs. I take pretty good care of my discs so this really isn't that huge of a concern, and I know the basic protocol of cleaning and wiping outwards. But I was thinking, how do most of you clean or keep clean your game discs. I got some in a trade that I'd like to clean up from smudges and fingerprints...and I'd like some advice as to what would clean them up.

I use Dial anti-bacterial soap & the hottest tap water I can stand . It gets the discs so clean the water will bead on it . When I'm done washing the discs , I shake the excess water off & dry them with a fresh clean cotton t-shirt or equivalent . Give it a try . :)

I'm also afraid of cleaning discs, mine only get dirty if I leave them inside the PS2 console though, so nowadays I just take them out when I'm done.

You're kidding right? Noone in their right mind would use a game doctor on a dirty disc that still works. 50% of the time you'll end up with a disc that doesn't work at all.

same here, i usually just try not to get them dirty, keep them in cases at all times, etc. but if they get a little dirty just grab a soft cloth and some rubbing alcohol and gently wipe it away. SOAP IS BAD...ALCOHOL IS GOOD (for cleaning and other things :D )

Good deal. I just brought home a bottle of Glenlivet, so I'll give it a go.

The Glenlivet... not just Glenlivet. If you're going to drink decent scotch, atleast give it its proper name.

On top of taking really good care of them in the first place, I put some d_skin's on some of them.

Generally, you don't really need much cleaning if you handle your games properly. Basics like don't put your oily or sweaty fingers on the disc and make sure your game belongs to only 2 places: your gaming system or the case..

Yeah, but sometimes a friend borrows them, or you pick up a great game that's used, and it is dirty. That's how it goes in my case, since I keep my games in pristine condition...

Borrowing is a no-no for me. Casual gamers may take it lightly when handling discs. My games stay with me.
