According to the news we are going to be getting a bunch of snow here in the Northeast.Since work got cancelled for me tonight I'll try to document the snow via digital images. Why? Because I'll be up for the next 12 hours and I'm stuck in the house with nothing better to do.

3:30PM EST

The Left: You can see the main road.

The Right: Will lives upstairs.

The Front: Right out my front door. Slightly to the left.

This could be kind of cool. How much is expected? In WI, we got almost a foot and a half with more on the way.

Yeah, I'm north of Boston and the snow started at 3pm (they predicted it to start at 6). I've heard at least 20 inches by the end of tomorrow, with 10-15 falling tonight alone. See you MA CAGS at the shelters!

Here in Iowa we got a couple inches of snow, but we had freezing rain for like 3 hours before it started snowing. I would definitely take the ice over 30 inches of snow!

We got about a foot so far in Madison, but a friend of mine in Milwaukee said she can't even get her car out because so mcuh snow was dumped behind her by the plows.

If what you guys get in the Northeast is anything like what we got, saty off the roads. They were pretty bad last night.

Yeah, high winds make everything even worse. I was out shoveling at 3 in the morning last night, and yes the roads were very bad. I saw someone almost hit a mailbox.

The roads are getting bad here. I went to the new Gamecrazy they opened right near the RI/MA border and the roads were bad. Not to mention I had a Shaq-fuing time finding a parking spot because everyone was at Stop & Shop. One of the guys working at gamecrazy was going to talk to the manager at hollywood video about closing early.

Right now I'm looking for a teaching sort of job. I'd really like to give teaching a try, but I'm not locked into it. I've got an English degree, but it's a Bachelor's of Science one so I've got a technical background too.

How hard is it to get a teaching degree? Is there set courses? I'd like to teach culinary but I don't want to do it at a high school or college. Like....at some youth center or something along those lines.

That's one thing I still have to do, I haven't gotten my teaching license. From what I've been told though, it's not that hard to obtain at all. A lot of places even have programs where you can earn it WHILE teaching (Fast Track, Lateral Entry, etc). So I can't tell you for sure, but it sounds like I can get all the stuff I need that I don't have yet in a semester or so...and get a substitute teaching license in just a few weeks.

I'd like to teach high-school english courses, personally, but I'm not dead-set on that...getting a job is the key right now. Maybe some ESL (English as a second language) tutoring on the side (I already work as a tutor for a guy who came over from Japan for business.) Write some as well, save up and eventually go back to school to work towards a masters.

We probably have about the same amount of snow as you see in Cheapy's pix. There is a flood warning for southern CT on top of this, and I live basically across the street from long island sound. The PA system announced that people should move their cars to higher elevations, but nobody in the apartment complex has gone outside to do this. It seems more likely that you would wreck trying to move your car in the blizzard with no visibility and poor road conditions than have your car be flooded in the middle of the night.

I like it being in the 70's, but we don't have AC. The whole apt. community was switched to heat in November even though it only gets into the 30's at night a handful of times since then. My roommate and I aren't that happy that it's very warm in our rooms and it never gets cool in our apartment.

From the way the rest of the pics look, I'm positive he can make piss taste like liquid candy.

Seeing all these snow pics (and the desserts!!!)...is making me envious. I get snow once every 10 years. Yeah, ONCE every TEN years. :( Even then, it doesn't even reach 3 inches.

Well I'm snowed in. The drifts are crazy and I had a hard time opening the outer door. I'm not even gonna try to shovel this now because it's nasty out. The wind is blowing around 45mph.

RichD: Those pics are really cool.

Still snowing here, and windy. The snow in the driveway is up to the windows of the cars, plus the snow on top pretty much buries the cars. The snow on our deck alone is about 33-34 inches high.

I guess they are saying that this storm is about the same as the Blizzard of '78, and when all is said and done, it may be the biggest snowstorm since the last century.

RI just declared a state of emergency and they have already canceled school for tomorrow. I think MA has also declared a state of emergency but am not certain.

I'm 5'11, and the snow was waist-high in alot of places. I think we probably got around 30 inches!

Yeah, there are some crazy high drifts, once the pool fills with snow I may have to go into it.

The snow has stopped hours ago, but it is really cold and windy outside.

Time to look at some more food pix and wish that I was as ambitious (and talented) in the kitchen as Jimmie apparently is.

The wind is blowing all the snow into the pool. It seems a bit higher...now....time to test my theory about being able to jump from the second story to the snow filled pool.

I don't think he made it out alive. I haven't seen him playing Halo since that was posted.

hmm I'd say we got about 4-5ft, theres a huge snow drift near my house at least 6ft tall, massive. But generally about 3ft-5ft depending where you live in the city. We eat snow like this for breakfast.
