I'm able to play almost all of my favorite child hood games on the PS2 now.. purdy cool. But where is the Mario compilation? I know that if Nintendo ever did release it.. it would probably be for the GameCube, but still. Old school Mario is a gold mine waiting to be struck.

Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES.

Yeah I used to have that, but I sold my SNES a long time ago. I want a new one :)

Nintendo is selling Mario Bros. 1-3, and Mario World 1 & 2 individually for the GBA. They make more money if they can get people to buy each one individually.

Either buy the GBA mario classic games, or.. Emulat... (Gets attack by ninja)

I always sold my systems to have money for the newer ones. See when I was like age 8 or so my family didn't have much money... still don't, but I'm an adult now so I buy my own games :)

Yes I've been doing that for a while but I'd rather have it for a console...

Well if you been emulat (waits for ninja) hook up your pc to your TV (like I have) and pre tend it's a console, buy a pad and your good to go. I do it all the time (ninja star thrown in face). Or by the GBA player for the GCN and play your Mario GBA games on your TV (still talks with ninja star in face).

edit: if you don't have the time why do you want the game??

SNES is my favorite system of all time. I could never give mine up. Good luck on finding another one. They are getting kinda pricey these days.

Once the gameboy player drops in price and the gameboy advance games get clearanced out, I am going to assemble the sweetest collection of SNES type games. I still have my SNES and its in fine condition but all the good carts are hard to find complete for cheap. I figure by the end of the year (at the latest) the GBplayer will be nice and cheap and so will most of the good GBA games.

A game boy player on your game cube with the GBA games would be your best bet. It'll set you back quite a bit of money to do so.

Still can't believe they can't give us an updated SM All-Stars. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I was actually thinking about a Mario Party compilation (from MP 1-3)

I wouldn't mind seeing it released for the Cube as a preorder deal or something, but I don't think Nintendo will do it. They make plenty of money porting them to the GBA. Why package them together when they can make a bundle selling them separately?

Off-topic a bit: I have both carts of All-Stars. The original release, and the release that had Super Mario World on it as well. I think that one is a little harder to find... A better choice if you are looking for this game, since Mario World kicks ass.

I picked up three for $10 each or less at yard sales last summer. But it does take some work, it'd probably be worth it to just pay eBay prices if you want one without the hassle of the hunt.

I will say, the resolution on the GBplayer really sucks (as GBA games are low-rez). Looks very icky on my projector. A collection for GC (preferably 480p) would be awesome.

Of course, I have a NES and a SNES, and can play them that way. But wavebirds are so convenient! :D

I'll put my money on the Gameboy Player and Games being OOP (Out of Print) before they are clearanced.

Is there anywhere I can get Super Mario World 2 (that was Advance 3, right?) for cheap? I doubt it, but that's the one I'd want if I got any of them.

For GBA or SNES, it's pretty cheap on SNES, $6 at EBgames.com, I think, but on GBA it's still $25+.

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind having ports of Super Mario Land 1 + 2 + 3 (which was the first Wario Land). They would look good updated, especially the first one, since it is pretty ugly. And, Land 2 was an awesome game!

Personally I agree with that completey. But if you factor in the time I spent going to hundreds (at least I figure I probably hit hundreds over the entire summer) of yard sales this summer, it would be a lot more cost effective to just buy it quick. But since I enjoy hitting the sales anyway, it works for me.

Yeah:

Super Mario Land (GB)
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (GB)
Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (GB)
Wario Land 2 (GB)
Wario Land 3 (GBC)
Wario Land 4 (GBA)

That's basically the entire arc of the GBA games. The Land series transitioned into Wario's games. Now that would be a sweet compilation.

Agreed. IMO, that would've been a lot better than Mario 64 DS.

What do you mean "out of print"? Do you mean they'll stop manufacturing them? I was kind of figuring that if they clearance them and all. Shouldn't matter though, because pretty much all the stores around me have tons of Game Boy Players. No one must buy them because of the price. In fact I'm surprised my local Walmart hasn't dropped the price of 'em seeing as how they are taking up so much dead shelf space.
