Are non-CAG affiliate links allowed here? The link works ok without adding the affiliate number.

Follow-up: Nope, not allowed. See the first message in the following thread:

http://cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32

I'd suggest editing your first post above to remove the affiliate link.

I have no idea. I got the link straight from IGN's site

I guess I could edit the link to, http://gamestore.ign.com

it'll just rename itself anyway

Hmm... Most of these games seem to be the same as what's at Gamestop.com

Yep, they're associated with each other:

"IGN and GameStop.com have teamed up to create a one stop shopping site for all your gaming needs. From PC to consoles, accessories to strategy guides, DVD to toys, you can find it all in the IGN Gamestore.

When shopping in the IGN Gamestore, you will be placing items into your IGN Gamestore shopping cart and checking out. That's where GameStop.com comes in. We've partnered with GameStop.com to handle and ship your order(s). GameStop.com will help you with any questions, comments and/or concerns regarding your order(s)."

But with the above code you only have to buy 1 game to get a free one, not two. Thanks for posting the info. I got myself 2 gamecube games I've been wanting. :D And you were right about the affiliate code returning even when you remove it. My apologies.

What are the odds of getting a game without a case?

I'm thinking of getting Dark Cloud 2 and Suikoden III.

Is it me or does IGN's game store have no PS2 nor Xbox preowned games?

they have a ton of Xbox games. They had Ninja Gaiden, KOTOR, and PRG2 last time I gave a scroll through

This deal is REALLY tempting but....I think I am done buying used games. I ALWAYS seem to get the copy that has been used and abused to death. I seriously wonder what these people have done to the games I recieve and why? What did that game ever do to them? Has anyone else had similar problems? I'm really tired of returning games.

Yeah. I'm kinda worried about that. Never ordered used online before. Can't seem the condition of the containers and disc beforehand. My Gamestop also has a 7day return policy... I wonder if that can be used for online purchases, probably not.

For example, I was thinking of getting Zelda Ww for $35 and Otogi but the second says it definately does not come with container and manual.

Instead I might just spend the $35 and get Eternal darkness and something else from the other post.

Well I hate the whole $29.99 thing right now. All I want are some games that are below that value. Like Amped 2 or Sphinx.

Yeah, that's my thing. All the games I want right now are below 30 (used) and right at 30 new. I'd eagerly pay 30 dollars for a 25 dollar game to get another 25 dollar game free. Oh well.

I have a sneaking suspicion that people trade some of these scratched games in online...not necessarily through EB or Gamestop. Sites like Spun.com and whatnot take trade-ins as well. If you don't say you want the games back if they deem them unacceptable, then they can keep them and you get nothing.

Seems pretty easy for them to say the games are scratched, not pay the consumer, and just sell them to the next unsuspecting consumer. I've gotten shafted quite a bit recently with f'd up discs from ebgames.com. You can get them swapped, and they reimburse return shipping, but it's a hassle.

Stores can get greedy too and be a little lenient on trade-ins. Ideally, nobody should be taking discs that are scratched, but we all know how that goes. I've seen stores where they don't even bother to check if there are instructions, and I've seen stores where they inspect the disc at every possible light angle. If they can't sell it in their stores, then they sell them online, or sell them in bulk to other companies.

Just say NO to scratched discs!

It seems all their pre-owned games are back-ordered. That sucks and it seems suspicous to me.

Right, that's why I picked up Dark Clud 2 for $29.99 and Suikoden III for $28. Shipped total it came to $32 which is about $16 a game. Not bad. I just hope they come in good condition.

Alternatively, I was looking at Crimson Skies. It use for be $29.99. But they just reduced it to $24.99 which excludes it. This would be much hotter if they included just the $25 games, because there are a ton of great titles between $25 and $30.

I dont have ign that sucks

Well dont worry about scratch discs from gamestop

Even if they dont work gamestop refunds your entire order and doesn't even ask for the stuff back. At least that was my experience when i got a nonworking copy of mvc2 for dreamcast. The disc is in perfect shape no scratches whatsoever but it just doesn't play. I called them up and they just said we'll refund your credit card. It took only 5 mins.

Well, my problem is I had JUST gotten 3 Xbox games with the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal at the local Gamestop. So I thought maybe I'd get All Star 2004 for GBA and something else. But the GBA games are ALL gone! I mean, in the first 200 titles I think I found 4 that they had in stock.

I did some looking at Gamestop's in Seattle yesterday and didn't fare any better, so I suppose the deal is working TOO well. :(

Also, the coupon doesn't work as described. I tried to place the following order:

Simpsons: Hit and Run - Preowned GC $39.99
Animal Crossing GC $29.99

The coupon was rejected, I assume because AC is new. But nowhere on the coupon details does it say that only preowned games are included, in fact, it specifically says "any in-stock video game or dvd":

Discount: Purchase any in-stock preowned video game or DVD valued at $29.99 or more and receive any in-stock video game or DVD valued at $29.99 or less absolutely free! Only one offer per order. Only one free item per order. Not valid with bundled items. Valid through the IGN Gamestore only.

I wish this was instore, I could absolutely argue and win the case. Online, I imagine I'm screwed.

sign up at IGN, go to the boards, then go to the customer support. Maybe it'd work that way...
