This past Monday night, while at a game store, another customer came in to look for a classic SNES and Super Mario Kart. He said he was getting it for his gf. This was while I was shopping for the MK:DD bundle. The store was out-of-stock of the classic SNES, and so were its nearby locations. Since I had one and was looking to sell it, I asked the clerk if he'd mind if I offered mine; he was cool about it.
I went home, grabbed it, and returned under 10 minutes. The SNES was complete with original box and two controllers. It even had the original Target price tag on it! Coincidentally, it was the SNES Super Mario Kart Bundle. Also included were the original box and packaging for MKII and Stunt Race FX.
the games were:
1) Ballz!
2) Mortal Kombat II
3) Rise of the Robots
4) Star Fox
5) Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
6) Stunt Race FX
7) Super Mario All-Stars
8) Super Mario Kart
9) Super Mario World
10) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
When I returned, we introduced ourselves and shook hands. He offered $55, and I accepted on the spot. The deal was good for me, and I think it was pretty good for him and his gf too! I am happy, and I think they'll enjoy a great system in pristine condition!

yeah, just the games are worth that, not counting a boxed system. but heck, it saved you the hassle of listing it on ebay and having to wait in line at the PO to ship it, but you gave him a nice deal, esp since the system was boxed and it included so many good games.
he got a good deal.
I'd say so.
Oustanding deal for him. I would have jumped on that in a second.

I think you could have gotten more than $55 elsewhere.
But, if you feel it was a good deal for you then..

Yeah, definately good deal for him, and you could've gotten more than $55.. and I think you know you could have, but wanted to be a good samaritan (sp?) for someone, and for that, I applaud you.

It's always a shame to hear about someone giving up a classic system, but when the deal includes the original packaging and a number of great games at a bargain basement price, I really have to wonder what the seller was thinking as they sold their little piece of gaming history for pennies on the dollar. It's a shame really, but I guess we all make boneheaded mistakes like this from time to time. I guess I'm as guilty as the next guy in that respect.

If you have any other pristine older shit you want to get rid of, I have a $5 bill with your name on it.

Wow. I'd almost go so far to say you got ripped off. But if you are both happy, then everything is cool. Wish I coulda bought that from you though :)
I think I'm going to agree with the majority in here: that guy got a good deal.
