Is buy.com legit? I personally have never ordered from there and this is the best price (including ebay) I can find for this so I don't want to pass it up. Also I know this price was posted in another forum in a topic about whether or not Shadow Hearts is good, but couldn't find any specific topic about this price/link.

In the end of December, I placed two orders from Buy.com, one of which was an order for Shadow Hearts @ $17.99, and it took about a week, and it arrived no problem. New and sealed. It came from a store that I guess is affiliated with them, "Jack Of All Games" (I think that was the name of it). Wasn't a Buy.com warehouse address on it, though inside the box was a Buy.com packing list.

Sounds like I did this at the right time, if people are having such problems with them and this game.

Well, the last wave of price increases (on ebay) was because of people finishing up Shadow Hearts : Covenant (I think). If people enjoy SH then it will rise further. If not, then it will stay low. In the long run, I think SH promo copy will be valued higher, since it had a lower print run and wasn't available at retail. But if no one knows about the Shadow Hearts series, then it won't rise in value at all. :)

I never said top 5 RPGs, I said my top 5 favorite RPGs. There's a difference. It's not like I've played all RPGs and am qualified to pass judgement about how good they are.

I loved Secret of Mana and Golden Sun was okay. I'm surprised Nocturne isn't on the list and niether is covenant.

Quite a while back. Covenant had a great battle system and I enjoyed it. But I enjoyed playing Shadow Hearts more. Nocturne is great and all, but I haven't completed it.

As you can tell from the list, I'm very partial to 2D RPGs.

Well those are my old favorites, however recently I have found RPGs like Star Ocean and the Tales series to provide me with more entertainment. Shadow Hearts just felt to tedious, either pay attention and hit all the little areas or die.

By the time it goes up in value (if it ever does) chances are, I won't need the measly $50-$100 it might get me on Ebay. Games are a bad investment.

I got mine the other day. wasn't expecting it, since Buy.com's inventory status is wonky to say the last [I've had one order in 'Sent to Warehouse' status for over a year.]
I then promptly stuck it on Half.com for an inordinate amount : )
I'm playing two or three Rpg's right now and don't want to start another one yet, so I haven't opened SH yet. If it sells, it sells, if it doesn't, I'll play it when I'm caught up.
Reading back on some of these old posts:
I don't think of Skies of Arcadia as 'generic.' Or, even if it was, it did something right, with the story, atmosphere, and personality to make it stand out.
